Because it's the perfect do-everything bike for the UK as well as trips to the Alps. Eventually, I will update the shifters and derailleurs to SRAM X0 stuff, and maybe some sexier cranks although I am real happy with the LX ones. When the fork goes I will get a new Pike Air. The bike is light enough to go XC and strong enough for the hardest trails I ride in the Alps. I can't recommend the Thudbuster enough....sure my mates take the piss a bit but if you have a do everythhing hardtail and it's your only bike, the Thudbuster makes it feel as plush as a susser without the compromises. I am stickin with my hardtail...more fun plus no bearings to service, shocks to keep pumping up/adjusting, linkages to grease and bounce on pedalling.
