I want to clear a few things up about clough state park since i live 2 seconds from it, ON THE BACKSIDE OF IT. I live in Weare and i go into clough from the floodplains side. People need to understand that there are about 50 different entry points into clough. YES IT IS THAT BIG. Anyone who says there is nothing technical here is either a retard or just lazy as hell. I applaud those who took the time to find the real trails. OK ANYHOW... If you are from out of town and all you know is where clough is or you lack any real sense of adventure and dont want to follow my wonderful directions: Park at the RV lot and ride the old railroad bed away from the state park and lake all the way until you start seeing the river and you cross a bridge. From here you should start seeing side trails all over the place, and even awesome ones prior to the bridge. In my opinion, the closer you stay to the parking lots, the shittier the trails get...WELL, NO SHIT!!! Becuase thats where all the lame ass, lazy dirtbikers and ATVers park and tear the hell outta the trails... You came here to exercise right? Then get as far away from the ACTUAL CLOUGH STATE PARK as possible to do real riding. Stop being lazy. If you are packing some brass in those spandex shorts and you followed my directions just start taking side trails and get yourself lost in the woods (Watch out for crazy Wearebillies though). You will be able to spend hours upon hours here without getting bored. Hell, I spent 2 years riding these trails 3 or 4 times a week (vice winter) and I dont think I covered everything. There are some bad ass hills and climbs and very technical, curvy, dizzying flat trails. Go after it rains, make things interesting. They even have a 26 mile race out here every year for those of you ambitious enough to take on a real challenge. Contact me via email for more info. (FROM MANCHESTER) Take 293 towards bedford and goffstown and hop onto 114 going into gofstown. Take this all the way to the end of goffstown past 13 and past sully's supermarket. About 2 miles on the right there will be a turn lane for river road. Make a right on river road heading into weare NH. and follow river road almost to the end (APPROX 12 Miles. It ends on RTE-77 or Concord stage Rd in Weare) About 1/4 mile before River Road ends, there will be a dirt road on your right...follow it to the gate(you will go over a small bridge and past some houses and large cornfields). This will be your entry point... there are other dirt road entrances off river road. Take any dirt trail off river road (right hand side - coming from goffstown) and you will end up in clough someway or antoher. Most of these roads wont be on maps and are sort of locals secrets...oops not anymore.
Summary: Clough state park is simply one of the best places to ride in NH. It's got a whole bunch of technical stuff. I’m only a few seconds away from the trails and bike there all the time. One of my favorite trails in clough is the river trail. It takes about 45 minutes and is at the 4 way intersection of 2 trails. It is true that you can get easily lost in there but it's really fun. I would not recommend riding here after it rains because the trails get so muddy you can't go anywhere and it's crap. This area floods very easily also and that sometimes wrecks the trails. The best time to go to clough would be in the summer or fall. In the spring is when it is mostly muddy but sometimes it is good in the spring. At the RV parking lot they have a big map of the place and have smaller maps you can keep. I have been riding these trails for a few years and haven’t been on even half of them. There are just so many places to go it's CRAZY. The four wheelers and dirt bikes do tear up the trails a lot but there are a bunch of trails that are not ridden on as much. Clough is a great place to mountain bike, so get out there and ride it dummy!
Recommended Route: Look on the other reviews to get there from manchester because I have no idea. There is a good place i know of where to park though. It is not nearly as big as the RV parking lot but at this one you don’t have to worry about those dumb atvs and dirtbikes. There is never anyone else parked there so you should not have to worry about space. This small parking place can fit about 3-4 cars and there is a trail right from it that goes to the RV parking lot and from there you can go on any trail you want. Anyway, The secret parking place is off of 77(concord Stage road). If you are coming from Concord into Weare, right when you pass the Weare sign keep your eyes out for it. After the sign you are going to go over a bridge with green rails. This is where you want to slow down. The parking place is on the left right after to get off the bridge. It just looks like a small dirt/grass area. You should see a small trail that looks like it goes under the bridge and the trail has a silver gate now (just go around the gate if its closed, they only put it up to keep motor vehicles out of the dam area). This is the trail that takes you to a bunch of other trails to go on.Good luck!

Summary: If you can find Clough State Park on a map, you can get there. The most common way to get there will bring you to the RV parking lot, or next to it, the dam. I usually ride over the dam and go down into the flood plains, and eventually take trails that get me lost for a while. Sometimes, though, the trails petered out, and I found myself hammering through the woods, coming out on a road in Weare somewhere. I used to live in Goffstown, and would ride my bike to this park all the time, and I KNOW that there were many trails that I missed, although I spent many hours exploring through it. I am planning on moving back to New Boston, and I plan on going back often. Great place. If you can get your fishing rod in the backpack, there are also many great fishing opportunities along trails, too. Trust me.
Recommended Route: Anyway you look at it, you just get lost (and enjoy it).
