Marin Bikes, established in 1986 in San Anselmo, California celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. It’s offices lie in the shadow of Mt. Tamalpais, commonly referred to as the birthplace of mountain biking and still at the heart of the sport. On advice from his doctor, founder Robert Buckley rode a mountain bike to help heal a nagging knee injury and quickly became passionate about the sport. He founded Marin Mountain Bikes upon this passion and remains dedicated to the pursuit of the ultimate cycling experience. After 20 years Buckley remains at the helm of Marin, directing daily operations and is the creative drive behind the brand.

Still privately owned by its founder, Marin Bikes celebrates its 20th anniversary with the release of the commemorative Team Titanium. Hand built in the United States, each bike in this very limited production run will be numbered and recorded. With a retail for the bike at $5,279 and a frame for $2,000, the Team Titanium is reminiscent of the days when Marin Bikes was the first supplier and pioneer of production titanium mountain bike frames.

Marin’s employees continue to ride the same trails and experience the same emotions that gave birth to the sport of mountain biking when it first began. Marin’s products include bikes, bike accessories and clothing, and are distributed by independent bicycle dealerships throughout the United States and 46 other countries.
