2004 marks Ventana's 16th year in the business of producing sweet hand-built bicycles and is our 14th year of attending the Interbike tradeshow. A lot has changed in those 16 years, but our commitment to world-class performance and manufacturing excellence remains the cornerstone of our company philosophy.
We build all Ventana products from the ground up starting with raw billet and tubes, CNC machining, welding and final frame assembly in-house under the watchful eyes of Ventana owner, designer and fabricator Sherwood Gibson. And we wouldn't have it any other way. Our products are mind-boggling and our attention to detail is extraordinary.
We use oversized double sealed cartridge bearings at all of our suspension pivots and have a quad bearing option that pushes our lateral stiffness to unrivaled levels and extends life. Many of our competitors use wimpy skateboard bearings to cut costs or save weight...and ultimately lose stiffness, cornering performance, and bearing life in the process.
To further define the legendary Ventana ride, we have our tubing custom drawn and double butted by Worth to our specifications. And for our customers who require special fit or ride characteristics, we offer three levels of customization from semi-custom size-to-size top tube alteration to full custom.
For 2005, we have made small but significant changes to both our El Saltamontes and X-5 full suspension frames to accommodate the newest stable platform shocks, our El Martillo CX cross frame gets disc brake mounts, our El Conquistador is still the best full suspension offroad tandem on the planet, our El Toro hardtail onespeed with eccentric BB and disc brake mounts remains supreme, and we introduce our limited production collector cruiser the Ventana Demonio Chopper here at Interbike.
