$1800.00 | | Purchased At: | Brant Cycle, Burlington | | Strengths: | Good bike at that price point at that time (1992 Vintage). Solid eduro / touring bike. | | Weaknesses: | No drain holes to BB's at bottom of seat tubes. Can lead to accumulated condensation and weld failure. Funky brake setup. No factory support. | | Similar Products Used: | Cannondale 2005 MTB tandem | | Bike Setup: | 7sp DX/LX mix. Caliper brakes. Stock Drum brake | | Bottom Line: | This bike cemented our marriage. We've done > 1000km road tours and the bike handled well carrying nearly 600 lbs of team and gear. It handled double track and modest single track as well as we could do on singles. The stock equipment was overwhelemed by serious trails but with small upgrades it fared better. The frame (steel) is flexible by modern standards. As a used bike it would be a good family tandem or starter tandem. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
