Duration Product Used:
Less than 1 month
Purchased At:
ChainReactionCycles
Strengths:
Fantastic spec for the price (06 reduced to £495) and good quality bits all round such as full XT and tubeless wheelset. Particularly impressed with the uber-light weight which you can really feel and the XT v-brakes are pretty damn good Some people may not like the Dual Control Levers but they're growing on me and give the bike another edge
Weaknesses:
From the internet so all those disadvantages (setup yourself, v.little support, bodged on delivery, etc)
Although the finish looks pretty good on the paint, the actual design is a tad naff and strangely difficult to put other colours with... also seems to chip/scratch quite easily.
Slightly nervous geometry is not helped by the tyres' complete lack of cornering performance on road

Specialized stumpjumper HT
Bike Setup:
As it comes except for a ritchey pro seatpost
Bottom Line:
Ultimate value simply for the parts on it; great to ride, if a little racey. If you're looking for a branded frame this is hardly it (it says since 1997 on the front!) and there are better looking bikes out there. If, however, you just want to be the quickest XC rider out there, I reckon this is a very good choice. (If you're planning on doing more than XC, it may not be up to it)
