Description:Dorado is the fork you see on the bikes of the world's fastest riders, and for good reason. They were designed from the ground up to be the best forks available anywhere for downhill racing applications. Dorado uses wild carbon fiber and aluminum construction to save weight and a proven coil spring design.

Strengths:
Strong build, great working internals and long lasting
Weaknesses:
Rebound or compression doesn't work very well, doesn't have much adjustment range.
Similar Products Used:

Bike Setup:
Santacruz V10 2006, 888's, Air shock
Bottom Line:
Great forks but if you crash the fork legs twist, and you have to unclamp the crowns and stem so they straighten up again and the retighten, just means you can't crash then! Slow rebound and the only way to get them fast is to reduce the amount of oil running inside 'em. Apart from that they are a sick fork.

Great fork, I have never had any problems with this fork and i also have used alot of forks and nothing feels like this. 8" of the very best.
Weaknesses:
Nothing that i have noticed.... Maybe the price but that doesn't come into it when the fork works so well.

Bottom Line:
If you can get a hold of one of these forks (keep it). I have used alot of forks and have blown boxxers to peices. marzocchi's are strong but they doen't come anywhere near to these. Manitou are the leaders when it comes to suspension.

Design.. Fork looks very very nice weight is also awesome USD Design..
Specialized FSR Team DH.. Fo. soon a Turner DHR.. Hell yeah
Bottom Line:
This fork is pure crap! I rode this sticky sh!t during 2-3 Hours... hell, hours! Not months and the carbon cracked! Oil runs out, just under the upper crown! Awsome.. fo bad quality for this price level! I send it back to our import guy in switzerland and got my "money" back in form of a credit! Pfff.. never ever a dorado again! Every mrd-x works i heard about has some problems.. most of them blew up or are terribely sticky! Without spendinh hours of tuning this piece of sh*t will never run well! I don't wonder that answer stoped the production of the 200mm mrd-x-works
thanks to answer for the last season04 which fell completely off!

Bottom Line:
I had the 2004 dorado mrd-xworks, and it never worked propertly. The SPV system is not designed for the long travel, and pressure on the inverted seals. The problem is the blatters. Manitou has stopped production on the fork and will not be producing the Dorado 200.
