    Date Reviewed: October 9, 2008
    Favorite Trail:BMW
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $800.00
    Purchased At:2nd hand
Strengths:Bomb proof, spot on damping, low maintaince, strong
Weaknesses:Vey tall axle to crown height, flexy for its weight (typical for an inverted fork), stanchion guards dont protect the stanchions adequately.
Similar Products Used:2006 Boxxer WC, Marz Shiver DC, Manitou Xvert carbon DC, Marz 66SL, Fox 40RC2
Bike Setup:Demo 9 DH, Avy front and rear
Bottom Line:Bomb proof fork, much smoother, stronger and much much lower maintaince than the boxxer WC that it replaced. This fork is too tall for most bikes. Its about a full inch taller than most 8 inch forks. This was not a problem for me as the demo 9 is designed around the original 888 which was also 1" taller than current 8 inch forks. A DHF7 will feel like more fork than most 8" forks and has roughly the same axle to crown height. The DHF8 is does a much better job of smoothing out terrain and keeping your front wheel glued to the ground than a boxxer or 40. If you dont mind the weight penalty and long AC its the best fork in its class.
