Date Reviewed: January 22, 2010
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Good price and a durable fork
Weaknesses:Heavy, adjustment doesn't do a whole lot.
Similar Products Used:Marzocchi 66, Fox 40
Bottom Line:This was a decent fork for the money but it would always spring up with random problems. Sometimes all the adjustments would literally just stop working and the fork would feel like a pogo stick and top out like crazy. Manitou offered no help when I inquired with them. Like I said if you've got money buy something better but I suppose it's decent fork on a budget.

Bottom Line:i have the 180 version and i cant be happyer, this fork eats up anything u throw at it, i have hit drops that are 13 feet plus and takes them like a champ, raced the fork once and its a single crown could have been a little more stable but this thing is a freeride machine love it

Favorite Trail:Turpin's Trail
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:With used bicycle
Strengths:SO far this fork is superb. I bought it with a ti spring in it. It is both supple and smooth with nice ramp up. Its been great for everything from jumping to dh and even for climbing back up. When climbing the fork settles down and doesnt bob much. It feels better than any other fork ive felt
Weaknesses:So far nothing
Similar Products Used:Fox Float 36, fox talas 36, 666 rcx2 (demo), fox 40
Bike Setup:Transition Gran Mal, Deity bars, X7 rear deurailler, swinger 4-way

Favorite Trail:where is a giant gorilla sit
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $550.00
Strengths:stiff in all the right ways. reasonably light considering its so stiff and a single crown. very very supple
Weaknesses:it is a tall fork and i light a low front end. it doesn't help that my frame has a long headtube either. some might find it too heavy.
Similar Products Used:boxxers, pikes, 888 (not mine though) and other big forks
Bike Setup:soul cycles sluggo (great frame and company), travis, gravity dh parts, and loco wheels
Bottom Line:the one i have is an OE type as it has TCP damping in it not the intrinsic which i hear is more temperamental. the dampening is the reason i choose this for over others. also the one i has is the 180mm not the 203mm and its still a pretty tall fork. i would not say this is a great race fork.

its a great for thus far. i'm a big guy at 260ish w/o gear and this fork goes where i point it. i will be racing it this weekend it in a dh hard tail class at massanutten. i have done some good size drops on it now and it has never companied for a bottom out or anything. also the thing feels like a magic carpet on the front of the bike. pretty much all the bumps big and small are gone.

also ironically the fork also DJ ok as it doesn't load up too much and take the pop of the lip away.

its pretty much the perfect gravity play for. it can do pretty much anything you ask of it
