    Favorite Trail:any trail
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $300.00
    Purchased At:LBS
    Strengths:very good at first
Weaknesses:wears out fast; keep it dry!!! If water gets in behind the boot it will rust out your needle bearings.
    Bike Setup:stock superv 400
Bottom Line:junk, not worth the money. I'm 150 lbs and wore out the shock in less than a year. I'm upgrading to a rock shox duke. Good fork if you want to look at it in the garage but don't actually ride!!

    Favorite Trail:um...Don Valley I guess... it's close
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $900.00
Strengths:I bought the C'Dale Terra. The small size frame is totally different from the medium or large. I basically bought it for the frame. Cool frame
Weaknesses:I'm new to Cannondale so I've been looking for reviews about their Headshoks. Opinions are all over the board. I'm going to need a fork with way more travel REAL soon!
Similar Products Used:I was riding an entry level Trek 4500 with a Rock Shock Jett before. P-Bone Headshok is way more cushy
Bike Setup:Um.. I'm using XT components, Hutchinson tires. I changed the seat right away, it was crap. Everything is stock at the moment.
Bottom Line:The bike is nice and light, especially compared to my Trek 4500. It was a tank. I love everything about the bike except the travel on the bottom of the line P-Bone Headshok. I will be making calls to upgrade it real soon. I'm not as hardcore as alot of riders out there, but this P-Bone Headshok will bottom out with ease! Only 60mm of travel...good for Sunday stroles through the park... that's about it. Definate good value for the money though!

    Favorite Trail:South Side Slip
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Purchased At:300.00 ( closeout sale)
Strengths:Shock will take a three foot drop at 20 mph and not bottom out
    Stable as hell
Weaknesses:Too little travel for real aggresive downhillers
Similar Products Used:First and only shock ever had
    Bike Setup:Factory setup F500 1995
Bottom Line:The bike is great. Shame on all the other people who think otherwise. This shock is not a downhill shock, it is a cross country shock. But this thing will take a beating and keep going. If it continuosly bottoms out, then tighten the spring.
REAL EASY. Again, this is not designed as a downhill shock, but it will take a but load of crap without giving any problems

    Strengths:JUST ABOUT MAINTANCE FREE
    Weaknesses:HEAVY-CAN NOT ADJUST-NO ENOUGH TRAVEL ONLY 60MM
    Bike Setup:STOCK F400
Bottom Line:THE HEAD SHOCK/BIKE IS OK FOR BEGGINER AND AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE. I WOULD RECOMMEND SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN A C-DALE, THEY MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO UPGRADE TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT THEY SUPPLY WHICH COULD BE A SET BACK WHEN IN A PINCH. BUT THE BIKES WILL HOLD VALUE. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

    Date Reviewed: March 9, 2001
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $1000.00
    Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Very solid and dependable cross-country fork. I weigh 180 lbs. and have had no problems with the fork since purchasing it over 3 years ago with my F700.
It's smooth, predictable, has no slop whatsoever and is very easy to maintain.
This is a solid product that will last many years (as my 3+ years of use can attest).
Weaknesses:For cross-country use only due to limited travel.
Similar Products Used:Rock Shox Mag-21, Quadra 21, Judy XC.
Bike Setup:Cannondale F700 with LX components, Mavic wheels, IRC Mythos tires (the BEST!!).
Bottom Line:If you are a cross-country rider that wants solid reliability, ease of maintenance and a smoth, consistent front end ride, this fork is for you. The needle bearings do a great job of giving a smooth ride and the location of the fork internals in the modified head tube give the fork very true tracking in tight, twisty singletrack. Downhillers, look elsewhere.

    Favorite Trail:Mt. Snow VT.(NORBA Course)
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Purchased At:Cannondale
Strengths:Soaks up the small to medium hits well.
The tracking is also very good.
Pretty stiff and some what light.
Weaknesses:Just not enough travel, could also be more adjustable.
Similar Products Used:Judy SL, Judy XC
Bike Setup:Cannondale SuperV500 Mavic 517/XT rims and hubs.
    Sram composite levers/ XT vbrakes
XT crank and Sram 9.0sl drivetrain.
Fox rear shock and Answer Pro Taper Riser bars/ Avocet saddle. 636 pedals.....
Bottom Line:The fork is a good XC fork for small to medium hits.
Its been very good for me and very plush too.
Considering it was a replacement for my other MC60, which by the way froze up on me, its an upgrade. All things considered Cannondale should have upgraded me to a Fatty because of the situation but Cannondale though otherwise.
So 4 flames for the Fork, and 1 flame for Crackondale.

    Date Reviewed: June 17, 2000
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:Smart Design, Easy Maintaining, Better Tracking on Turns(point and shoot), Looks Great, Easy Upgrades
    Weaknesses:Not enough travel, MCU$
    Similar Products Used:Rock Shox Jett/Judy
    Bike Setup:Cannondale F400 99, LX/RF+, P-Bone M
Bottom Line:Went straight from Rigid to Headshok and have never thought that other bikes I have ridden measure up. I do think that the design makes sense for XC use, high and enclosed, never really liked motorcycle designs translated to bikes. Bottoming out happens, but rarely if set up properly. Yes they cost more, but it's worth it.

Submitted by Drew a Cross Country Rider from Stead, Manitoba, Canada
    Date Reviewed: May 13, 2000
    Favorite Trail:Grand Beach
    Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:-Very stiff, and good at steering.
-Soaks up small to midsized bumps extremely well
    -Looks awesome
-Doesn't copy the ideas of other fork manufacturers'. Instead, Cannondale/Headshock comes up with a whole new concept for forks that works great.
    Weaknesses:-Not enough travel
-More travel would really help on big bumps/drops
-Could be more adjustability (rebound or compression)
Similar Products Used:Rock Shox Jett C, and a RST 281
    Bike Setup:'99 Cannondale F600, with Shimano 747's
Bottom Line:If you want a fork that looks great, performes great, has its own concept, and don't want to pay a fortune for it, the P-Bone is great. The P-Bone is suited for beginning riders and trails that aren't to rough or don't require lots of travel. If you use one, and are into racing, you might want to get a Fatty, which has more travel or adjustability. At least Cannondale/Headshock doesn't copy everyone elses ideas (Can you say Rock Shox, Manitou, or Marzocchi?)

    Duration Product Used:
    6 months
    Strengths:
    Very responsive.
Absorbs nearly all of the small bumps easily.
    Great feel!
    Weaknesses:
    Just not enough travel.
    Similar Products Used:
Not many, just my friends '96 Judy XC (or C?) and his '99 z2 BAM.
    Bike Setup:
F400, added 636s, & Cannondale shipped my LBS a new, longer stem when I bought the bike.
Bottom Line:What's up with these reviews below that put this fork on Huffys and Pacifics? What kind of nonsense crap is that? Feel free to ignore those BS reviews. This fork is great for what it is. It is a small travel fork which eats up all of the small stuff, but it just doesn't have enough travel to be really comfortable without bottoming out when you really hit it. The 70mm upgrade kit might be worth looking into, but I don't know the pricing on that (and yes, I am going to look into it for myself). But, for the most part, it rides exceptionally well, and leaves you able to use your hands at the end of the day, but it's not the best ever. Four torched tampons.
