1, insanely light weight,
2,very stiff
3,seems quite strong, but wouldnt freeride or dirt jump ewith them but then again they weren't designed for that anyway.
4,excellent steering precision,
5,very good performance, plush and j shaped path of travel means bumps are swallowed without diving.
6,Radical looks. these will get you noticed, guaranteed
7. Some of the best build quality i have ever seen on linkage forks,the cnc milling on this fork makes me weep its that good. what seems chunky and overbuilt turns out to be hollowed out when you flip it. 1300g in weight . need i say more.
8. Very little bob when climbing.
6. steering angle / rake doesnt suddenly change as fork compresses. | | Weaknesses: | 1.Finding a set which is the right size for your headtube at a reasonable price.
2.The j shaped path of travel is an acquired taste, which splits opinion and can make very tight corners taken at speed heart stopping if your'e not fully focused. I've used vectors for years so i don't notice it at all.
3.Product service/ back up may be a problem in your country, i will have to correspond directly with the manufacturer in france
4.They attract too much attention, you cannot , will not leave your bike unattended no matter what locks you have. Also when you have these forks you have to perform well as everybody will be watching you, no more bailng in the middle of a climb, or holding the rear the forks look professional and so must you....
5.Linkage fork haters will hate you because these forks are that good and they know it!
6.In ability to adjust compressoi/ rebound damping separately
7. lightweight means the front end of your bike will lift easily on steep climbs which isn't really a problem but will be noticed if you have changed from a heavier set up. | | Similar Products Used: | givin vector 2 with risse genesis upgrade

| | Bike Setup: | proflex xpx (special limited edition 856) , ritchey carbon bars, seatpost, fizik gobi saddle, xtr v brakes ( yep still got em) with mavic crossmax xl wheels with ceramic rims, continental supersonic tubes and twister tyres, hope headset, xt chainset/ bb,rear cassette , f and r mechs, sram chain, risse astro 5 rear shock.Oh and not forgetting the fournales fork.weight just under 24Ibs for a way large frame (21.5 inch frrame) | | Bottom Line: | These are not the best fork out there but for cross country or fast trail riding they are amongst the best in term of their weight/ performance ratio.
If you are into the whole linkage thing then i recommend them, everyone else try bfore you buy if possible as they are very different to telescopic forks

The forks ride up and over rocks far better than teles because the sweeping action handles non axial loads far better. Beautifully engineered. Oil lubrication ports. Light and looks great if you pardon the pun. | | Weaknesses: | These are the best forks I have used but to be picky, the bottom bearing oil port would be better on top of the bearing out of the way of the mud. The bracing for the carbon legs at the main bearing allows some rotation of the legs which results in a small amount of play in the steering from new, but the steering is in any event much better than tele forks. The air shock has some stiction and is a little rough on fast ripple bumps. | | Similar Products Used: | Pace, Manitou, Rockshox. | | Bike Setup: | Lightspeed Softtail | | Bottom Line: | I always thought linkage forks were a good idea if they were properly engineered. Look Fornales have sorted the engineering and they have done so with a remarkably light weight of 2.5LBs the same as the SID Race. They are exceptional for cross country riding and can handle the melon sized boulders we get in the Lake District. I use the powerful hope Enduro disks brakes and the forks do not twist under braking at all even when riding transitions. imported by veltec in the US this fork should attract the racers in search of high end performance and those who are fed up with those blue forks!! I actually helped the engineers develop this jewel a few years ago, but racing for a big ass team prevented me to continue racing on it. now I live/race in the US and am thinking on racing on it here. a few changes have occured and the fork has been perfected to fit any riding position [stem angle]. what can I say? oh yeah, in malibu, the duuuuuuuude ordered one. no commnent. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

Do you know this fork ? I have it since 3 months (previous i had a Judy XC and a Sunn Chaos 2). This fork is really the better fork i tried, much better the SID, very light (1,3 Kg = 2,6 Pounds), very adaptable with a pump, really simple to maintain. In France, it costs 900$. | | Overall Rating: |
