from Memphis, TN Date Reviewed: May 24, 2002 | | Favorite Trail: | Tour de Wolf / Stanky Creek | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Strengths: | Cool looking Carbon fiber post, theory of hex-bushing sounds great | | Weaknesses: | however, the shaft can twist inside the bushing creating swivel in the seat. STICTION after ONE, yes ONE ride the post had stuck itself in the bushing | | Similar Products Used: | none | | Bike Setup: | C'dale M500 with Marzocchi Bomber EXR (awesome) and Deore LX compts. | | Bottom Line: | 1. customer service is not good at all, i asked a question 3 months ago, recieved 1 email reply that basically reasked my question 2. some swivel in seat 3. Very Bad Stiction 4. it was a gift, but i hear it is quite pricey >$100 | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$60.00 | | Purchased At: | From tamer at Pedros fest | | Strengths: | None | | Weaknesses: | It last for a bout a ride, cust serv sucks | | Similar Products Used: | rock shox, other various posts | | Bike Setup: | Which one | | Bottom Line: | This post sucks, Me and two other friends got them at the pedros fest. I need to get a post warrenty by Tamer and they promised me this one was better. so I tried it was great for one ride and then it fell apart. DO NOT BUY THIS POST. Hey Justin from Tamer if your reading this, you never sent me back my old post you promised to warrenty. I even got you beer! You suck just like your seat posts | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from crossville TN Date Reviewed: February 21, 2001 | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | none | | Weaknesses: | Is Tamer still in business? What good is a lifetime warranty if that only applies to the life of the product? In my experience the Tamer seatposts BREAK! Then, Tamer customer service gives you a hard time about the GREAT BIG SLICE OUT OF THE INSIDE OF YOUR UPPER THIGH! Sure, they'll replace it, but do you want your gonads riding on top of this spring loaded anal probe? | | Similar Products Used: | USE xcr | | Bike Setup: | klein hardtail | | Bottom Line: | stay away unless you are a bike path rider- one star 'cause there ain't no no stars! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Ontario, Canada Date Reviewed: November 22, 2000 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Weaknesses: | Like mentioned in one of the earlier reviews, the upper coupling is only press fit and will come off, usually at the most awkward time | | Bottom Line: | Don't bother, it's not worth the money and the company reps are really picky about scrathes etc. It doesn't take much to break, and isn't worth the hassle.
Expensive, easy to break, heavier than a rigid. Save the money and get a nice saddle!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

a Cross Country Rider
from Milwaukee, WI Date Reviewed: August 3, 2000 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | Did a good job absorbing little bumps and providing a more comfortable ride. Available in many sizes. Can usually find one without having to use a shim. | | Weaknesses: | It broke after 5 months. The upper bushing slipped off lower housing with the lock ring still firmly attached. The standard elastomers setup simply didn't work in cold weather (major stiction), the oil/coil upgrade would cost $50 extra. The excessively long front bolt poked a hole in my new WTB saddle. | | Similar Products Used: | RockShox suspension seatpost (serious side-to-side play after 4 months) My friend's USE XCR (seems nice for the short time I tested it) | | Bike Setup: | Trek 950 with Manitou SX-R fork and LX/XT components, Matrix Guru rims with Mythos XC tires | | Bottom Line: | It was good while it lasted (which wasn't long). also Tamer's customer service left much to be desired. I ordered a Hydrapost SR-2 after I throw out the broken Tamer. The SR-2 utilizes roller bearings and an oil/coil system, and it costs less than $100. I'll post a review after I spend some time with it. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Winston-Salem, NC Date Reviewed: February 3, 2000 | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | Low weight, cool looks, great suspension, easy maintenance | | Weaknesses: | Price | | Similar Products Used: | USE XCR | | Bike Setup: | Titanium hardtail | | Bottom Line: | Great suspension action and easy to maintain. Extremely easy to eliminate play from bushing wear (inevitable on all telescopic posts). They are small enough to do custom lengths, as I needed since I have a lot of exposed post. With a lifetime warranty you can't go wrong! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from NJ Date Reviewed: January 19, 1999 | | Bottom Line: | The Tamer Pro XC suspension seatpost is totally killer. Its strong, not to heavy and is offered in all sizes, using shims. It is also backed by a Lifetime Warranty! The travel is excelent at 2in. I compared It with the USE XCR post, and the Tamer blows it away! There is also a spring kit upgrade available for it. For anyone wanting a good suspension seatpost,I recommend the Tamer Pro XC! | Overall Rating: |
