    Favorite Trail:man u stadium stairs
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Price Paid: $180.00
    Purchased At:cyclesmith
Strengths:bloody tough. re-buildable parts. bearings still spin brilliantly after 2 years, freewheel runs nice, engages fast.
Weaknesses:bolt-on axles, good idea and bad idea all at once. tried contacting atomlab - useless. their customer service is a ghost.
Similar Products Used:king - much better but you pay through the nose. XT - cheaper, for a reason.
Bike Setup:orange, marz super t, race face drive train and bits.
Bottom Line:the hubs are solid and reliable. the bolts for the axles suck, they sounded out after a few months and could never get through to atomlab for a new set. ended up going to the local machine supply shop for better replacements any ways.

    Date Reviewed: November 12, 2003
    Favorite Trail:Holbert@So. Mtn.
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $75.00
    Purchased At:Rage Cycles
Strengths:I've been running the rear hub for 1 year now and I haven't had any real problems with it. It has held up to racing, jumping and big drops with no slop in the bearings or busted freewheel. The price is almost the same as a Shimano with standard QR but hte bolt on axle definitely stiffens up the rear triangle.
Weaknesses:I had to put a good bit of threadlock on the bolts to keep the hub from coming loose. I also rounded out one of the allen heads. I was able to replace it with a higher grade bolt without any trouble (they're a common 6mm) and haven't had any trouble since.
    Similar Products Used:Shimano, Hope
    Bike Setup:Turner DHR
Bottom Line:This is quite possibly the best way to get thru-axle performance without buying a new swingarm. The hubs are tough, reliable and relatively cheap.

Submitted by Sam a Downhiller from uk
    Date Reviewed: September 23, 2002
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $100.00
    Strengths:cheap
    Weaknesses:bolts round out
    Similar Products Used:hope, various others
Bottom Line:I went with the Atom labs in the end because of price (vs Hope Bulbs). Quality seems ok and after 2 weeks on france (equivalent to at least 1 year in the UK) and a few races back here there's still no play or problems....

except that the bolts used to do up are rubbish. The hex is slightly oversize (perhaps it's imperial.... bloody americans) and is starting to round off a little bit. You can get a normal skewer right through the axle though, so that's an option, but I'll just replace the bolts with something a bit more sensible soon.

Weaknesses:the freehub clicks like nobodies business.

    Bottom Line:maybe?
