Product info: Continental Top Touring Tire
Strengths: Virtually bombproof, cannot flat these tires
Weaknesses: Very very heavy
Not pretty to look at
Similar Products Used: Continental Goliaths, Michelin city tires
Review Summary: I average over 6000 miles a year commuting over 30 miles a day to and from work. As you can imagine, I've tried a lot of different components, wheels, and tires. I bought these 26" Continental Top Touring 2000 tires in July 1999 and after 2600 miles later (as I'm writing this), I haven't had a flat. This is incredible considering the amount of pure miles I rack on my commuter bike. I live in Northern Colorado, and ride through all types of junk and road debris and these tires keep on trekking. If you're looking for an all around commuting, all-purpose road tire for your mountain or road/touring bike, you will not go wrong with these.

Product info: Spin Skins Kevlar Tire Liner
Strengths: weight,
they work when they stay together
Weaknesses: they don't stay together for long,
tires have to be kept at >45 psi
Similar Products Used: Mr. tuffys
Bike Setup: '99 c-dale f1000
Review Summary: Why didn't I read the reviews first? I wasted $40 on these useless strips of cloth! They broke into separate pieces and actually CAUSED a flat by wearing through the tube. I installed them according to the directions, except the >45 psi part (they were used on my MOUNTAIN BIKE ridden OFF ROAD). Well, apparently at lower pressures a lot of friction goes on between the tire and tube, thus breaking down the spin skins. Mr tuffys do not have this limitation. Nothing will completely prevent flats, but at least Mr tuffys won't CAUSE flats!

These might work well for road use. If you ride off-road with your tire pressure over 45 psi, these might work for you, too. They did not work for my purposes. I think I'll try Panaracer's flat away kevlar felt strips.
