Strengths:
burly strong while still having very good ventilation. Most other DH helmets I have tried are very hot and this is much better. The only helmet I tried that has better vents is the specialized deviant but the deviant is pretty loose fitting on my head and did not feel like it would stay in place in a crash to me. The remedy also has removable liner and cheek pads for washing which rocks!
Weaknesses:
I had a hard time making some stickers attach to the matte finish of the grey helmet. It could have another vent or two and it would be even better. Hey, I'm nitpicking here.
Similar Products Used:
Bell Bellistic (nice helmet but hotter that the giro and not as burly) (crashed in this one), sixsixone full bravo( too hot and not as a good in the fit and finish)(crashed in this one), Specialized deviant (not a great fit for me) (glad I never crashed in this one.
Bike Setup:
Turner Highline, 888, blah blah
Bottom Line:
Great helmet. I have crashed in it a few times and the two of them were full on face plants in rock gardens. The helmet stood up to them and protected me amazingly well. I really like it a lot. It has about the same number of vents as some of the other DH helmets but they are better places and not blocked by pads behind the holes like some other crappy helmets. I would buy again for sure.

Bottom Line:
It is a great all around downhill helmit. I crashed multiple times with this thing, both of while hitting my head on the ground and it held up great. Other than my neck being sore the next day, my head was fine. Coming from a half face helmit it was a little hotter but nothing as I expected. When I breath none of it comes back which is one of the main things I look for in a helmet. So I really enjoy this.

Bottom Line:
Bought the remedy to replace my aging Mad Max II. Worked flawlessly for the last six months, taking small hits from sticks/branches here and there, with the occasional digger crash. Had several wrecks falling directly to my head; one off a log, the other off of an elevated ladder, both of which the helmet came out unscathed, and saving me from significant pain. My latest crash was off of and onto elevated ladder stunts, which ended up destroying my helmet. I impacted face first into the wood landing, immediately going unconscious, and ended up going to the hospital. THIS HELMET SAVED MY LIFE! Inspection of the helmet shows a missing visor, a chunk missing from the faceguard vent spaces, a deep fracture through the right visor hole, a deep fracture through the middle visor tension hole, and multiple small cracks in shell material. I fully endorse this helmet and will also be writing a personal thank you to Giro for making a safe and strong product.

This is such an incredible helmet. It looks so cool. And it also looks fast even sitting on the floor. It's weight is incredible. When I first held it, I thought it was the CF version but my shop guy told me it is the normal one. You get great vision. It is as if you are not wearing a helmet. The pads are can be taken off to wash so it doesn't stink. MBACTION magazine rated it 1st in a full-face shootout with FOX, AXO, 661, Specialized and Troy Lee Designs. Guys, get this one. And it's relatively cheap.
