Submitted by Chris Brattle a Downhiller from Birmingham, UK
Date Reviewed: May 6, 2002
Favorite Trail:The Streets Of Birmingham
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Northfield Cycles
Strengths:Er, Strength, and lots of it.
Not bad spec for the price either, nice wide bars, which is rare on a BMX.
Lovely handling
Weaknesses:Oem pedals are useless, swapped for DK Iron Crosses, ditched front brake straight off also.
Silly heavy cranks, but you're not gonna bend them, BB bearings need tightening regulaly, no matter how much you tighten them.
Similar Products Used:Haro TRX2.2 Many 24inch MTB's
Bike Setup:As stock, flipped stem to get a bit more rise,
Bottom Line:I bought my old cruiser as a shopping bike, I wanted something robust and simple and not so expensive that it would get immediately stolen (Brum is bad for Bike theft) needless to say I fell in love with the whole 24" thing and despite it's sterling service once I saw the X24 in a catalogue I decided that was the bike for me.

It's very heavy, the cranks in particular could use being upgraded to some tubular items to save some weight. The BB isn't the best item either as no matter how much Loc-tite I use the bearings keep on developing play and I have to tighten the lock-rings.

Still, this is a minor niggle, apart from this the bike has performed beautifully, it's stiffness and agility is a revelation after riding a big DH bike for so long it accelerates like nothing else, generally an ideal second bike for any MTBer wanting to get back to basics but doesn't like twenty-inchers.

Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:a bike shop
Strengths:Hardcore jump bike, stiff
Weaknesses:Heavy as f*ck, bearings dont last very long at all.
Bike Setup:Original parts
Bottom Line:Good bike for the money, but i had to change the bearings in less than two months. bear in mind i live in the uk, and the weather isnt great, but if your after a good, solid bike for a bit of dirt etc, if you dont mind lugging the weight around
