Favorite Trail:Capital City BMX
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $420.00
Purchased At:Ozone
Strengths:Frame is super stiff. Frame geometry is great. Wheelset is pretty tough.
Weaknesses:Cranks, pedals and Chain. I bent the spindle and one of the crank arms within 2 months. At the time I was only rolling and manualling jumps. Not jumping. The cranks sucked. I think they're the same as Poverty's. Replaced them with Supercross cranks. I've been jumping a lot more and just beating these cranks to hell and they don't flex or give up. Like most stock platform pedals, they just didn't have enough traction. Wellgo MG1's are the way to go. The chain popped and creeked from the start. Made me nervous, especially out of the starting gate. So, I put a good chain on it and all that stopped.
Similar Products Used:Redline Proline Team 24. Specialized Hemi 24.
Bike Setup:Stock setup except for the Supercross cranks and I replaced the forks with Odyssey Race 24. Nothing wrong with the factory forks, just Odyssey's are a bit stiffer and maybe a little lighter.
Bottom Line:Been riding this bike for 8 mos. This is a great BMX cruiser for the old guy getting back into the sport of BMX racing but not wanting to spend $1K + for top of the line frame and parts. I think Haro may have fixed the crank situation as the arms they sent to replace my bent ones seems a bit more heavy duty. I really like the 21 3/4" top tube. For riders 6' and over, it's got the leg room. Some might prefer a taller front end, but I like it where it's at. Overall, it's a good bike for the price.

Strengths:If you look up Stiffness in the Big Book of Words it has a Photo of The New Haro Range of SX Bikes. The Hydro-formed Frame has all the makings of a great responsive Ride.
Out of The Box Components rate this a Good Value Buy. Clean Lines make this a Stunner to look at. Backup of the Haro Company, Assistance is always given to those who ask
Weaknesses:On a personal Gripe there is too muck black in the components, but that was soon fixed to chrome with a talk to the powers that be. I would Like to see internal routing of the cable as non Haro Pads can interfere with the cable.

Date Reviewed: May 13, 2003
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $420.00
Purchased At:Fat City Bikes in Peachtree City
Strengths:The quality of the components is great (at this price level). Haro's three piece cromoloy cranks, sealed hubs, and bottom bracket, etc.
Weaknesses:Can't think of any other then the God awful "baby blue" color which is your only option.
Similar Products Used:Redline 24" Pro version
Bike Setup:Great bike right out of the box! Everything has worked better then expected.
Bottom Line:If you're looking for a fairly cheap 24" racing bike this is it! I was a little unsure of the hydro formed top tube with it's odd looks and even more worried about the color of the bike. having said that I still selected this bike over the 24" Redline and have NO regrets!
