Favorite Trail:The Breaks at Bar-H Ranch
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Local Bike Shop
Strengths:Strong very simple design. Some what of a light frame. Great entry bike and then some.
Weaknesses:The holes for the rear V-brakes are odd I was unable to find any that would fit it. To many screws to install water bottles or air pumps, and some seem to have no purpose.
Similar Products Used:Mongoose XR200 and Schwinn Ridge AL
Bike Setup:Haro V4 with 27 speeds Shimano LX drive train, Sun Rhyno Lite wheels, Truvativ crank set, Richey Pro handlebar and stem, Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes, Pivot seat post and Marzocchi MX Comp forks.
Bottom Line:I bought the frame itself and added all new aftermarket components, so I can only speak on the frame. To me it seems light and has been through some real tough terrain (even some not intended for bikes)

Favorite Trail:Angel Fire to Taos
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $499.00
Strengths:Fast and responsive, Sram derailers are great!
Weaknesses:WARRANTY! My frame broke just above the derailleur hanger. Haro warranties the frame, but not the labor or the parts needed to upgrade to the new replacement frame. To rebuild the bike will cost almost $400 without labor.
A bit heavy, stock seat cheap, black anodized parts fade to gold, cheap bottom bracket did not last 100miles
Similar Products Used:Giant Iguana, Marin b-27
Bike Setup:stock drivetrain, bontrager riser and handelbars
Bottom Line:Has been a decent bike for the price I paid. Not worth full retail with the heavy and cheap components that it comes with. I would not recommend that anyone buy Haro if they actually plan to use it on a trail. But the overall clincher was the sorry warranty. All I have now is a bike with a fork, and a rear derailleur. Nothing else will fit on this new warranty frame, not even the wheels.

Date Reviewed: June 18, 2007
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Purchased At:sportwheels
Strengths:The frame.
Weaknesses:forks, highly suggest looking into new brand if you are a hard core rider.
Similar Products Used:Haro v3,v1
Bottom Line:Good bike for an easy rider, great for trails/city commute, not so much a bike for down hill.

Date Reviewed: September 1, 2006
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $700.00
Purchased At:Matzman-Merutz
Strengths:Light, fast, comfortable after a little investment in seat
Weaknesses:Gets out of tune quite fast, seat sucks.
Bike Setup:stock-seat changed for simple one with a gap in the middle to ensure blood supply to the most important area in the male body ;-).
slime for the tires.
Bottom Line:Very good bike for the price. I rode 16 miles to work with them on a daily basis, in dirt roads and had no problems.
they tend to get out of tune after couple of weeks, quite annoying. I like their speed and light weight. I highly reccomend them for someone who wants good bike w/ 27 speeds and doesn't want the Specilized models.

Date Reviewed: November 4, 2003
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $601.00
Purchased At:Sport-x Smiths Falls
Strengths:Awesome frame, good weight. XT 9sp rear derailleur, truvativ cranks, solid wheel components.
Weaknesses:Manitou axel fork is a little bit hard to tune to exactly the right style for different types of riding. Crummy seat and grips.
Bike Setup:Stock.
Bottom Line:This bike is well worth the $800 i paid (canadian). It's tough, reliable and looks trick. Haven't had any major problems in the past couple of months of riding, just minor rear derailleur slippage, easily tuned.

Haro's doing a good job of moving into the mtb community. They may not have the "name" yet, but for me, that just makes their prices affordable.

You might wanna get some new pedals/seat/grips to replace the generic ones that come with it. Also, a slight-rise bar would be a wise investment.

If you're a hardcore "Canadian bike brands only" kinda person, this isn't your bike. Try Norco, Rocky Mountain. But for cross-mountain/epic/low-end freeriding, and some fun downhillin' this bike is definitely the shizzat.

5 flamin dog-crap ratings both overall and value.

Strengths:Awesome Components for $600. XT rear derailer, Deore Front and Manitou 100m front fork, TruVativ Crank.
Weaknesses:Seat, Pedals, Wish had Disk Brakes!
Similar Products Used:Checked out Kona NUNU, Gary Fisher Tassajara, Giant Rainier.

Favorite Trail:T H Park
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Sun and Ski
Strengths:The only bike presently on the market with a 9 speed Shimano XT rear derailleur, the front derailleur and shifters are Deore. A Manitou Axle Comp 100mm Travel Fork, an Alex DM18 Double Wall 32h w/CNC Sidewall Rim, a WTB Velociraptor 2.1 Tires and Alloy Caged Pedals w/Toe Clip/Strap for only $500.00
Weaknesses:Crank set and breaks
Similar Products Used:Similar priced Specialized, Trek and Motobecane,
Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:Unable to find a bike for less than $500.00 with Shimano XT rear derailleur. The frame holds a 6'2", 245 Lbs. kamikaze with ease. The contour of the upper bar has safe me from several painful memoirs.
