Submitted by stevo2themax a Cross Country Rider from Helena, MT
Date Reviewed: May 3, 2009
Favorite Trail:Ridge trail
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $950.00
Purchased At:Big Sky Cyclery
Strengths:I took it for a paved and dirt road ride today and i am very impressed with its ability to get going and keep going. i also took it on a short trail ride yesterday and it performed very well, though i would suggest lowering the seat if you are going downhill because your center of gravity is much farther forward. for cross country trail riding and road riding this bike is excellent.
Weaknesses:It is a bit on the heavy side- prob around 31-32 pounds for the 20 in frame (what i have)

when you are going fast and you use the front brake it makes a sound almost like you are sticking a leaf or piece of paper in the spokes- a little annoying but there seems to be no effect from it on the braking power.
Similar Products Used:Miscellaneous specialized bikes- old stumpjumper and before that a hardrock. this is my first 29r
Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:if you are a xc trail rider who also likes to get out on the road every once in a while or for commuting, this bike will fit your need perfectly. just dont try any jumping on it- bad things can and will happen. its really built like a rock. Oh and if you care about getting dirty, the tires kick up mud/water alot higher so if you care about it, get some fenders.
