Strengths:This bike is awesome. Bomb proof frame, if you like big air this is your bike.
Other reviews on this page are from stupid people, if I read one more review on how heavy the frame is I will come unglued. This is a jump bike it’s going to be heavier, than a race bike.

Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $350.00
Purchased At:St. Croix Bike and Skate
Strengths:A well built bike that can take just about anything. Decked out with a 3-piece crank, double welled rims, and raw finish(colors vary)you'll never look stupid standing next to one of these. It is durable and well balanced, it can take a beating over an over again. The seat is perfect(although it is a little hard)because it is out of the way but still fits really nicely between your legs/knees.
Weaknesses:It is heavier than most bikes but usually that means it's more durable. The rims on mine are not chrome so stopping isn't always the easiest. The brakeing system seems a little loose (it doesn't stop right away when you hit the brake) but you can probably fiddle around with it and fix it yourself. Some miner things and that's about it.
Similar Products Used:Mirra 540 Air(freestyle)
Bottom Line:Not quite a beginer's bike due to the heavyness, but definetly a fun one. I learned how to bunnyhop before I got this bike, so once I mastered bunnyhopping on a heavy bike I totally out jumped everyone else I knew. I wanted this bike because I thought I would try to learn more tricks and I needed a bike to take the beating. This bike has not let me down. Nothing has broken, nothing I need to keep adjusting, nothing sounds or runs funny, it just goes with the flow! Very smooth Very well engineered. 5 for 5!!

Price Paid: $350.00
Purchased At:Bike Empier Poway California
Strengths:The frame is solid although a little heavy. Good rims and tires, brakes are alright. Already went through two tubes and I am sure that the black rims will lose their paint were they meet the brake shoe.
Weaknesses:Already stripped out the crank and on the right side, but this was most likely due to the shop over tightening.
Similar Products Used:Various other bikes
Bike Setup:front brake only stock
Bottom Line:Good solid bike, still happy with the purchase just not happy with the shop.

Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $320.00
Purchased At:Cottonwood Cycles
Strengths:Frame very strong it can take abuse, lightweight unless ur a p**** and cant lift a bike, 3 pc cranks, the sst oryg
Weaknesses:the chains gets too tight, hubs and cranks arent sealed bearings, and the seat tore easily
Similar Products Used:backtrail x4
Bike Setup:cutted bars down for better control and barspins, got new grips cause old ones tore from cutting down bars, changed whole gear from 36x14 to 44x16, wheels r cool use any size freewheel, got thicker sprocket and KMC 415 chain, haro spyder lites pegs on left side, snafu seat, got better tires for both dirt and flatland, will soon get odyssey hazard lites and better cranks
Bottom Line:this is a really cool bike for those who want strength and not much weight from their bike. i recommend to upgrade some parts so its beefed up and ready for anything. its a cool bike BUY THIS BIKE!!

Strengths:Strong, Beefy, Good components, Decent Paint job and stickers, 3-Piece cranks, Looks amazing.
Weaknesses:A bit heavy but the strength has to come from some where. The tubes are Huge.

Bike Setup:Volume Mad dog bars, Primo: Wall tyres, Ian Morris grips, Hemorroid seat, Tenderizers, Front brake off, Bars cut down.

Favorite Trail:drexel brook rides
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:cycle fit
Strengths:It is very strong, light, and it looks great. Plus it has a decent warranty.
Weaknesses:I snapped my crank after 3 months of riding which I wasn't too thrilled about.
Similar Products Used:schwinn predator, schwinn powermatic which were good bikes but...
Bike Setup:I cut my handle bars down an inch on each side for barspins and stuff, took all of the stickers off, and got a set of demolition pegs.
Bottom Line:This is a good investment if you are looking for a good bike for street and dirt. If you need a strong bike this is the one. You may need to ass some non factory parts on to it such as standard, profile, kink, terrible-1, primo etc.

Date Reviewed: October 12, 2001
Favorite Trail:will's trails
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Strengths:3-piece cranks and 4-piece handlebars are good but just cause it has 'Nyquist' on it doesn't mean he rides the bike his bike is almost totaly differen than the stock bike you get.
Weaknesses:No front brake so you can't do endos and harder flatland stunts. The seat ha s kevlar on it but not enough and not tough enough for many falls.
Bottom Line:A Good bike, but could use a little improvements such as a better seat and a front brake. It's a dirt jumping bike but kids are alaways going to do street and flatland.

Favorite Trail:Airport Trails
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $270.00
Purchased At:Cycle Inn
Strengths:Nyquist pro frame. Best dirt jumping bike on the market.
Weaknesses:Since its not the Nyquist pro, it doesn't have the strongest 3 piece cranks in the world. Rims are light, but not too strong.
Similar Products Used:Mirra pro. Nyquist pro.
Bike Setup:2 pegs on left side. Back brakes only. Jackhammer bars cut to the shortest length possible.
Bottom Line:This is by far the best bike in its price range, and is definately worth the money. I would have even paid $200 more for it if I had to. Even if you have been riding for many years, and you thrash your bike quite a bit, the backtrail x3 will definately withstand all the beatings you can dish out, plus many more.
