Weaknesses:ihave had no end of problems with the rear pivot creaking best thing to do is strip it yourself and us a multi purpose grease on it. works a treat
Similar Products Used:Diamondback WCF 4.1 with manitou answer

Favorite Trail:snoqualmie pass
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $795.00
Purchased At:Bike Works, Lk. Stevens
Strengths:Cranks seem too hold out the longest.
Weaknesses:Well, it's my first full suspension bike, but after doing some serious riding for the last 6 months, the only thing original is the cranks/ handlebars the rest is junk.
Similar Products Used:none.
Bike Setup:I set it up for free riding/ Downhill with a fat 2.5 Tioga front tire and Rock Shox Judy XC forks which made a noticeable difference, The rear shock was not a versatile as you might need for uphill climbs.
Bottom Line:The bottom line is, this bike is designed for light duty use and extreme downhill riding will break the frame as I did a week ago. The pivot joint for the swing arm is weak as I may have been overriding the bike, but had it broke as I was descending down some technical downhill, it could have cause major problems.
After it happened, I found this page and reviewed the same bike to find out I wasn't the only one to experience this situation. The good news is that HARO backed my warranty and are replaceing the frame with a newer model, so I'll put that one to the test and see what happens.

Date Reviewed: October 11, 2001
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $700.00
Purchased At:Bonthrone Bikes
Strengths:Good, Strong, frame. Front forks perform well. good riding position. Great looking bike if you get the red and yellow version, turns heads.
Weaknesses:Front disk brake is crap. does nothing in the rain and looked up on me at first. Pedals have broken. The rear wheel broke after two weeks.
Similar Products Used:Saracen d-tox dh 2001. This bike rules!
Bike Setup:Mavic rear rim on a shimano deore hub.
Bottom Line:This is an excelent bike for the money, spend a little bit extra on new pedals and disk brake and you should have no problems with it, its a comfortable bike to ride and handles brilliant. Make sure you get the yellow and red frame.

Favorite Trail:MILL CREEK/NORTH SASKATAWAN N
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $900.00
Strengths:SOLID,WIDE GRIP,EASY STEERING,GREAT COMPONENTS
Weaknesses:TOO EASY TO BOTTOM OUT FRONT SUSPENTION,NEEDS MORE TRAVEL
Similar Products Used:MONGOOSE,THRESHHOLDSPORT(FRONT SUSPETION ONLY)
Bottom Line:GOOD ALROUND BIKE! IF YOU DO ALOT OF TUFF MOUNTAIN DOWN HILL RIDING I RECOMEND MORE TRAVEL IN THE FRONT BUT FOR CREEK OR SMALLER HILLS OR JUST RIDING ON RUFF OUTBACK SOIL THIS BIKE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH, YET WITH A COUPLE MORE INCHES OF TRAVEL IN FRONT YOU CAN TACKLE THE BEST OF HILLS!

REMEMBER! I AM A 200 POUND GUY AND THIS MAY NOT APLY TO LIGHTER PEOPLE.

Favorite Trail:Lynn Woods
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $849.00
Strengths:Great frame. I like the geometry of the bike.
The bike was good for the money , but needs upgrades when you have the bucks.
Weaknesses:Crappy components, blew the rear shox out, destroyed the front fork and mangled the crankset. Rims could be a little stronger. If you are free riding go with a 20mm
front hub.
Similar Products Used:Kona Stinky, P3
Bike Setup:Psylo xc, big boy seat, Stratos helix rear shock, GT flat pedals, LX rear derailler, Crowbar handle bar.
Bottom Line:Great bike for free riding. I didnt have alot of money so i bought this ride. I sank about $700 into it and it is a great ride. Do a couple of component changes and you will have a great ride. I have done 4-5 foot drop offs with this bike and it handles awesome.

Favorite Trail:Northstar
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $850.00
Purchased At:El sobrante, ca.
Strengths:Very Strong frame, frame design, huge downtube, giant swingarm. Very Strong headtube. Black frame.
Weaknesses:Decals, should've had a step-up Rockshox frame shock. (You have to be finnicky to criticize this frame.)
Similar Products Used:marin dual slolam, specialized p3, Kona.
Bike Setup:F.u.n.n. handlebars, Brooklyn Machine Works Shinburger Pedals, Rockshox Judy Race(Soon to be Psylo SL), Magura Hydraulic Brakes, Hope front brakes, XTR, Atomic Laboratories Trailpimp Rims, 13 gauge spokes, Specialized Evil Twin DS tires, Azonic Headlock and saddle, Titec Knucklesandwich Stem.
Bottom Line:Probably the best frame out there. A huge plus is you can get it for well under a thousand. As you can tell, just change some parts, especially the 3in travel fork. Get a 4inch travel fork, change both brakes immedietly to either atleast LX v-brakes, or disc, shorter stem, bmx pedals, aggressive tires, and you'll get the hard-core bike and ride, this frame was really made for. Use the extra parts to make another bike for your little sister.

Favorite Trail:Pontiac Lake
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Good balance and geometry. Manitou Magnum front handles the drops, rocks and roots great. Good clearance and no chain slap on the rear arm. Disc up front has been very steady with no taper off with heavy use...and no lock-ups!
Weaknesses:Pedals suck and keep coming apart - should be first upgrade. Deore LX FDR needs a lot of attention to keep it adjusted right. Front Susp seems soft, but never bottomed out.
Bike Setup:Manitou Magnum up front. Rock Shox Deluxe in rear. Dia-Tech disk up front. VelociRaptor over WTB Speed Master rims.
Bottom Line:Really like the bike. It takes a lot of abuse as I like to get air whenever possible and try to plow thru rock gardens and hop logs. Plan on racing it later in the year...we'll see how it goes. I think it's a good bike for someone who is a moderate to sport rider and wants to upgrade to a full suspension without going nuts.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Strong frame. only one pivot to worry about. looks good in mustard/red scheme. roomy cockpit. nice equipment package.
Weaknesses:Crappy pedals. decals not straight. heavy. rear swing arm gets scratched from shoe rubbing on it.
Similar Products Used:GT LTS
Bike Setup:535 pedals. Zokie Z3 Flylight 100 fork. Cane Creek AD-10 rear shock
Bottom Line:Dump the pedals, Magnum fork, and RS deluxe shock and you will get a better ride. will make a great freeride bike with the right stuff.

Favorite Trail:shawnee forest
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:this sturdy frame can take a beating, i have really put this one to the test. a couple of minor upgrades and this one is top of the line
Weaknesses:the first 2 or 3 months of use there was an annoying creak coming from the swing arm pivot point finally got it adjusted right or broke in though. probably better off with a vee brake up front instead of the disc
Similar Products Used:i-drive xcr 3000 not a chance GT
Bike Setup:plenty of cockpit room make this one a downhill eater. Rocks? no problem 3 inch manitou frk compliments the rs deluxe 4.25 rear perfectly.get some clipless pedals and your set
Bottom Line:if you want to get serious and Rip it up! this machine can handle whatever.

Favorite Trail:least crowded
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:great price. this is a strong bike. very stable on downhill and rough terrain. the shocks can handle all the abuse the mountains dish out.great for heavier riders.well equipped for the $ also.the tires have yet to pick up those pesky southwest thorns.
Weaknesses:front disc brake locked up on me twice while really working a slow steep downhill.could be me???? i added bar ends and some of those classic shin eating bear pedals.the old pedals couldnt handle the stress and were falling apart.
Similar Products Used:khs fxt 2000
Bottom Line:for the $ this is a great deal. strength and agility are a top seller along with good components.this bike is perfect for those old school bmx'ers who want a mtn bike with an attitude.this bike never gives up. maybe we should call it the HARO "timex".
