Favorite Trail:gum root swamp
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:mr goodbike
Strengths:hardy takes a lot of punisment ..good fram design ...comfort in standing pos..sitting or leaning fwd
shifters quick for up and down shift brakes great!
Weaknesses:rims replaced with heavy duty..(hard rider curb popper..stump jumper)next forks wore out quicker than i wanted...and the weight heavy but solid..its a give and take
Similar Products Used:none really ..it seems different
Bike Setup:now with heavy duty rims and tires..bmx mud flap on front and black fender on back with rack ..handlebars replaced came with a strait bar... changed the crank to add a road gear for straight ways and down hill 3 rings ...basicaly a granny gear for dirt and vert (uphill)and the downhill or roadgear..and one in the middle to connect the two.. makes for a kinda jeep bike great for riding the bike on the asphalt and sidewalks to the trails and the dirt ..or cutting through the negibors feild..
Bottom Line:its a good bike very pleased ...i kinda like the weight as an everyday ride..its more a work out (nice calfs) and the brakes and shiffters work great..upgraded the pedals..too
i ride it as an everyday commuter bike in Gainesville
some road some trail some sidewalk and a lot of people and dog and car dodging...handles well..have ridden several mt bike models and would not change it out..
bottom line its a jeep of bikes...thats a good thing

Price Paid: $450.00
Strengths:frame,
Weaknesses:tires, gears, rims,
Similar Products Used:infinity cycles full suspension
Bottom Line:OK so im at around 45,000 Km on this haro vector vbar and ive ridden it all over and only found the common problems with most cycles, this cycle is good and all and i do enjoy riding it on trails but rims are not the best and i had a gear blow on me, i rode out with only 7 gears instead of 8 and it was a horrible ride, got more walking than anything. Old bicycles need updates. New ones need to be better

Bottom Line:I have had brand new bicycles in the past that I have rode 100 miles and had to walk home cause of something broke, But with the 2000 haro vector v2 vbar I have rode it continously and still have everything origional on it except for 2 things that I have mentioned. I am a non stop bicycle rider and I travel all over ontario on my haro. Thank you haro for making a real nice bike that I can rely on!!! Keep up the good work. And hope to get something good

Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $350.00
Purchased At:Courts
Strengths:frame holds up to just about anything you put infront of it.
Weaknesses:drivetrain sux,the fork is the largest load of crud i ever rode on,i never bottomed out on one fork so many times in my life in the short time i used it.the headset sux as well mud and grime easily enter it.
Bike Setup:lx front and rear derailer, judy xc 01,box stem, selle italia seat, yeti speed grips.trans x high rise handle bar.
Bottom Line:if it came with the components i had now i would have given it five flamin chilis but the components were cheap but hey it was a cheap bike.the bike however is easily upgradeablee.good for beginners upgrading as they improve their skill.

Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:local bike store
Strengths:This bike has a solid frame. yes it is chrmo but still can hold up pretty well. The weight is well balanced. Pretty cheap parts but work great. Easily upgradable. Actually I upgraded mine to judy sl 01's.
Weaknesses:a little too heavy even though is only 30 poundsa which is pretty light for a beginers bike. Cheap parts, but even with cheap parts the bike componets an dparts still work great. Worst shocks ever sr suntour 6500
Similar Products Used:mesa,mumba
Bottom Line:This bike is top of line when it comes to best deal. Also the best if your on a budget or you a biginer. I got this when it firts came out. I didn't bike much but when I started to bike with this bike I started to races. This bike is no compition bike, but still is a great bike for trails. This is a top haro bike and u wont be disapointed.

Purchased At:back bay bikes
Strengths:GREAT bike for money. The frame nice solid and is curved for my little body. shifting is easy. great parts for money. upgradable very easy
Weaknesses:little bit heavy for riders like me. the sr suntour is the worse. but can upgrade very easy infact I upgrated to my judy xc which blows away that peice of junk suntour. Shifters are quick but feel cheap.
Similar Products Used:other haro vectors
Bottom Line:this bike is maybe the bet for buying if u only have around $360. is eays to upgrade so dont let soem of the heavy cheap componets stop u buying this bike. It is pretty much a great beginers bike besides the suntour suspension whcih makes a spring in a pencil look better.

Favorite Trail:Fort Rock
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:Philbrick's Sports N. Hampton
Strengths:Good solid frame, not too heavy, great acceleration, can take abuse well, beautiful paint job (mine's blue) fantastic brakes, nice gear commonets, VERY SMOOTH RIDE
Weaknesses:the SR suntour forks will have to be replaced if you are a SERIOUS XC rider, I have '00 ROCK SHOX SID's, I suggest the SID's or Jett's for a replacing fork. If you beat the bike hard on the trails and demand a lot from it, the gears will click in the higher range, simple solution to this is never shift in 16th or 24th gear.... those are the only two that I get grinding in.
Similar Products Used:other Haro bikes
Bike Setup:SID Fork, Haro Vector V2, Pedro bike grips, (soon to have new pedals)
Bottom Line:This is a great starting bike, and is easily upgradable. It's very friendly and enjoyable to ride. It's buck for buck one of the best bikes you'll get. The frame is great and very dependable. If you are looking into buying this bike, and you're a novice mountain biking this is your choice, I'm now an intermediate bikier, and I definitely get very technical now, I have easily customiuzed my whole bike for about 400 dollars (forks are expensive)

Submitted by Ken Townsend a Cross Country Rider from King City (hicktown), ONT, I AM CANADIAN!!!
Date Reviewed: July 23, 2000
Favorite Trail:King Trails!!!!
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Strengths:Wonderful paint job. Nice flexable comfy feel. Nice acceleration. The dip in the upper bar helps alot if u fall off and dont want your balls to end up pancake style
Weaknesses:The suntour is crap! I drove the thing around in the parking lot outside of the dealer and the shock bottomed out off a curb. Very sad. I've seen lighter bikes. The shifters were way to picky and on their highest ranges they clicked and didn't go into gear.
Similar Products Used:If ur willing to spend $470 CDN (before that 15% CANDAIAN tax) you might wanna take it $100 further and get a way better bike for the money like a Shwinn Mesa GS.

Bottom Line:If ur willing to spend $470 CDN (before that 15% CANDAIAN tax) you might wanna take it $100 further and get a way better bike for the money like a Shwinn Mesa GS. I'm currently in the market for bikes and I've been doing alot of research. Dont bother with this bike, it will catch and burn out your eyes with that construction orange and red but its not worth it. The only person I can recomend it to is a kid who is damn short on change and needs a nice lookin bike. If you do anything more than the casual ride to the corner store and want to impress the chicks dont bother. I give this bike 5 chilis for value and 3 for overall (are those chilis?)

Favorite Trail:powerlines
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:price, smooth shifting, good shocks.
Weaknesses:saddle hard as hell, toe clips aren't for me
Similar Products Used:ridden trek and mongoose
Bike Setup:factory except for specialized mtb sport saddle
Bottom Line:This is my first bike shop bike. I love it. Riding is a blast on a well put together bike. The v-bar makes clearance on a wipe out a little less likely to remove parts of my anatomy. For the money, less than $400 brand new I don't think it can be beat. 5 chiles for value. The origional seat will make you sing soprano. If you are just trying to get into off road without starving yourself or the family I really recomend this ride.
