well overall this fork works amazing. ubber plush feels extremely linear. Adjustments work great . Durable , raceable, freerideable a do everything dual crown fork
Weaknesses:
VA adjustment doesnt do a whole lot but other then that its worked perfectly for me

Great do it all fork ,If you do a little racing and soem freeridign then this is the fork for you. The boxxer or 40's cant do it all liek this fork. If your a pure racer Id move up to the WC model or to a boxxer but if you hit up the bike parks this will do you fine....actully great

It is plush, has excellent small bump absorption, every adjustment you need for every type of riding, soaks up the big hits like a sponge in water and ramps up like no other fork.

BUY IT! You can't find another fork with this performance for this price. It's more versatile than the Fox 40, has all the same adjustments and you know what? It is about three to four hundred bucks cheaper, not to mention it's unsurpassed strength and looks! The gray lowers, black stanchions, and red adjustment knobs just give it a clean, go-with-everything look. This fork has help make my bike a well-rounded downhill/freeride rig. Don't settle for anything else except the Marzocchi 888RC2X VA, because you're not going to find it. I love it, and it is serving me well after a little over 6 months of use, I haven't had to service it yet, the seals

Strengths:
The ability to set this fork to your exact liking would be a major strength in my opinion. Mine is set up now where it seems like it might be too soft but it rarely bottoms which is how I like it.
Weaknesses:
I might have paid a bit more than ideal but if I get a product that works for me I'm ok with that.

Bottom Line:
I was so surprised at the difference in feel between the Fox and this one. Using this fork has made me a much better, faster, and more confident rider. Kind of like the difference of going from 5" travel to 8". On top of that, I've gotten 5 days of hard resort riding on this fork already without any problems unlike the Fox which was in for seal replacement every few rides. So yeah, I'm liking this fork so far.

Bottom Line:
This is the best fork I have owned so far. Performance wise the only fork to come close is the dorado, but the dorado has a host of issues to its own. The fork has many adjustments, you can set the fork up perfectly, so it soaks up all the small chatter but ramps up enough so it doesn't bottom out on the big stuff. Low speed compression is nice to have to prevent brake dive. The fork is also very smooth, it sags under the weight of the bike. As of now my only complaint is the weight, but the performance makes up for it. Would definitely recommend it for all around freeride or dh, if you race then look into something lighter like a boxxer WC or Team.

Bottom Line:
I am very pleased with the performance of this fork. It is very adjustable and simple to maintain. Its ability to take the large hits and soak up the small trail chatter are very nice to say the least. I just wish the '08 stuff was as reliable. So, for now the RC2x is staying put.

Strengths:
Buttery smooth. Small bump damping is top notch while big hit/drop bottom out works great as well. Best of both worlds. Ease of service.
Weaknesses:
None really, the adjuster on the bottom of the fork hangs out there a little to much for rock banging. When I first installed the fork it had stickshion at beginning of movement. I sent it out to Marazocci they did the works and it is and has been perfect.

This fork right out the box was not right in my opinion. I sent it in to have the works done. The staff at Marazocchi was great to deal with and they did a outstanding job fixing exactly what I thought was wrong. I could not be more pleased with the performance of the fork now, It tracks straight all the time weather it is marbles, golf-ball, baby-heads, or boulders. Does not bottom out on 10-15 foot drops to transition. The fork is easy to work on.
