$90.00 | | Strengths: | light, look good | | Weaknesses: | NOT STRONG | | Similar Products Used: | wtb dual duty 29er, sun singletrack, alex ID19 | | Bike Setup: | Cannondale 29er | | Bottom Line: | These rims suck. I crashed after trying to ride a log, dropped about a foot off the side and the rim tacoed. I bent it back on the trail by hand and rode out, but it bent back a little too easy. a pretty weak rim. the wtb rims were stronger and cheaper. I weigh 240lbs, so i am harder on rims than a light guy, but these bent on my third ride and the wtb lasted a year. maybe okay for a light rider that is slow. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$85.00 | | Purchased At: | Universal Cycles - The Path | | Strengths: | Light, looks good | | Weaknesses: | This review is for the Salsa Delgado Race 29er rim. Be aware folks that I am having the same problems that other people have with the Delgados....the tires do not seat! I've tried 4 different tires and you need to pressurize to 70 psi before they seat and stop making noise. Then, when you take air out to normal pressures (I ride my 29er at 28psi) the damn thing squawks for every rotation. Note: this is not the other common problem with the normal Delgados which are pinned...they sometimes develop a clicking noise. Apparently the Delgado Race rims are welded and should not make a clicking noise. Anyway, I've contacted LBS and Salsa twice so stay tuned. I really like Salsa as a company and product...I just wish my wheels didn't sound like a squirrel is caught between my spokes. | | Similar Products Used: | American Classic Wheels, Mavics | | Bike Setup: | El Mariachi with all sweet components: thomson, king, XTR, WTB, etc | | Bottom Line: | Not happy with these rims because I thought I was purchasing the best....as they are the most expensive rims out there for 29ers now. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from OKC, OK Date Reviewed: October 8, 2006 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Weaknesses: | Everything, they are made really weird compared to a regular wheel. They are really wide and the double wall is made really shallow. I dont think these rims are very durable. I weight 200lbs, but I ride smooth trails and dont jump. The rear rim wont stay true, and the seem has already come apart. | | Bottom Line: | I wouldnt buy these rims for anything. They dont stay true and for the money, there are other rims on the market. I bought the wheels from QBP so they should have been built well. I will be looking for another set soon, as these are junk. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
