Price Paid:
$26.00
Purchased At:
LBS
Strengths:
Cheap. Does well on an onroad hybrid.
Weaknesses:
Forget about offroad. The weak spring is potentially disastrous when shifting on rough terrain. I ended up breaking two spokes when it shifted off the largest sprocket under load and went into the spokes, destroying itself in the process. On the other hand my hybrid has about a thousand kilometres on it and the Tourney does well there as the needs are less challenging. Not the crispest shifting but does very well for its price
Similar Products Used:
Shimano SIS, Deore XT
Bike Setup:
1997 Gemini Echo Beach, Deore FD, Alivio cranks/chainwheels and shifters
Bottom Line:
Do not use offroad unless you like trailside repairs. Limping home in singlespeed is no fun in hilly terrain. The weak spring is its biggest enemy, spend the extra money on at least a Deore class RD.

a custom bike with alot of crap parts
Bottom Line:
Do not buy unless for walmart bike repair. It is horrible and unreliable. I have hit alot of jumps which always end up with it broken. Go for an altus or deore for the extra money, since they will last longer
