Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from Long Beach, California, USA Summary: I lived in tokora for 3 months while living here I road this trail every week. It is an awsome trail made for all experiance levels. These trails are highly maintained by the local bike group, (often they go on night rides) Depending on the season the trail can be difficult, due to rain. Goodyear wild grippers worked great for me and disc brakes are a deffinite bonus. Recommended Route: widow maker Other recommended trails in the same area: all the trails are worth a go.

Ridden Trail: Every few months

Reviewed by: Mike May
, from Auckland NZ Summary: Beginner, intermediate and expert trails as marked out on the colour coded map. Approx 30km of well drained singletrack. All the trails are 100% rideable if you can hop your bike around a bit. If you plan your route carefully all the trails can be linked together to form 1 long loop. The 'Alien' trail which features off camber sections, logs that cross over streams, two man-made see-saws and a host of other obstacles is my all-time favourite track (as far as I can remember) Recommended Route: I can't remember the order of the tracks, but there is an excellent map at the start. Just use the map to work out a planned route. Other recommended trails in the same area: Craters of the Moon (Taupo)
