Coal Discovery Trail

Classic cross country, about 75% single track. This is a new trail this year, very scenic, some nice grinds and some great downhill sections. Total ride is about 32km ending in Fernie. This trail is used by hikers and mt bikers. It's easy to follow just watch for the red arrows and signs marking the single track sections. Takes about 4 hours.

Summary:
Great classic singltrack cross country. Nice views, a few technical spots, several bridges over creeks, a few good uphill grinds and some great decents. Not a trail for freeride adrenalin junkies, but if your lookin for a great afternoon cross country ride, this is it. The trail is new and still soft in places but will only get better with time.

Recommended Route:
Can be ridden either direction but probably a little easier starting from Sparwood.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Too many to list... if your in Fernie buy a trail map from any of the bike shops (the new one coming out is supposed to have GPS coordinates for all the trails)
