Cross Country Rider Summary: A lot of fun, with some good singletrack, slickrock, jeep roads and fire roads. Pass by a turnoff for Submarine rock which also makes for a fun departure. Chicken point area is really the only "advanced" piece of the terrain. Most of the other technical sections are beyond the beginner, but not extreme. Intermingle with Pink Jeep tours in the first part of the ride, and then find great solitude between chicken point and Llama trail. A very fun network of many interconnected sections including Mystic, Chapel, Llama, Bell and others. Recommended Route: Start near the "Y" in Sedona off the broken arrow sign that points to the trail head. Proceed up the jeep trails to the right hand side that is slightly more challenging then the lower jeep trails on the left, around chicken point, down towards Llama, past Chapel to Mystic and back to the trailhead, this time staying left and heading towards Submarine Rock for explorations. Other recommended trails in the same area: Holcombe, Cathedral, Jim Thompson, Bell. Holdcombe will be the most difficult of the 4, followed by Cathedral, Jim Thompson and then Bell.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I was disappointed with this trail and the others in Sedona. The riding there is mediocre at best. I don't understand why people are giving this 5 chilies, it's worth a three and no more. Luckily I didn't make the trip to Sedona just for biking or I would have been really depressed.
Don't waste your time making a special trip to ride Sedona. Go to Utah or Flagstaff instead. Recommended Route: The scenery is nice (except for the pink jeeps, golf courses, and rampant development), but the trails pretty much suck compared to other places I've been. Other recommended trails in the same area: None. Go for a hike instead.

Cross Country Rider Summary: ok, this is a tough trail that will test your technical abilities to their fullest. Lot's of short steep climbs and descents in and out of washes. Boulders, baby heads, slickrock, drops, etc. - it's all there. Scenery is spectacular (keep your eyes on the trail!) and you can link up with some good trails if you ride it north to south. Take the spur to Submarine Rock after a short distance and have fun on the slickrock. I ride a relatively lightweight, short travel cross country bike which is not the typical 'Sedona' setup which favors coil spring rear shock and, generally, a more robust suspension for more big hits. Recommended Route: Through town (ride along power lines parallel to Highway 179) to the Broken Arrow Estates sign (Morgan Road), then about a mile to the trailhead - which is less a trailhead than a confusing series of jeep trails and singletrack (you'll figure it out). Other recommended trails in the same area: Llama Trail, Templeton, HT trail, Chapel Trail, Spur to Sub Rock

, from Tulsa Summary: It was a pretty fun trail system but only took maybe an hour to complete a loop. It reminds me of Moab a little. Recommended Route: I took Broken Arrow to Chicken Point to Cathedral and then down Mystic back to the trail head. Then I had to do another loop including Little Light house and the out and back to Submarine. Other recommended trails in the same area: Didn't ride any other trails but plan to go back here.

, from Batoland Summary: This trail undulates at the beginning, but you'll do some climbing to get to Chicken Point. Take the Submarine Rock out-and-back and ride around on the slickrock, pretending to be Hans Rey. Go to Chicken Point and do the same, then take Little Horse, (AKA Mr. Toad's Wild Ride) which is essentially a 2-mile downhill (payback for all your climbing). Watch out for a sudden 4ft dropoff though; It surpised me as a I barreled around a corner. It's just one of those things you don't want to take by accident. Recommended Route: Broken Arrow to Little Horse, then hook up with Templeton to Cathdral Rock and Buddha Beach. Other recommended trails in the same area: Templeton/Cathedral to Buddha Beach, Huckaby, Thunder Mountain-Teacup
