Casa Grande Mountain

Single Track. Eleven uphill turns or switchbacks leading to fine mountainside singletrack. Then back down to the desert floor. Been riding here twice a week since trail was finished in Oct. 03. Intermediate at slow speeds. The Faster you go the tougher it gets. Very Cool Bridge over a wash!

Summary:
THE BEST SINGLE TRACK IN CASA GRANDE,ESPECIALLY FOR A BEGGINER LIKE ME. THE BIGGEST TEST FOR ME IS TO GET AS MUCH SPEED AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT BRAKING A HANGER OR DERAILELLUR. MY WIFE IS LOSING PATIENCE WITH THIS MOUNTAIN WHICH CLAIMED 1 DERAILLEUR, AND 3 HANGERS IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. THIS MOUNTAIN IS CURSED OR THE BOOGY MAN LIVES HERE, OR I JUST DON'T RIDE TOO GOOD. I WON'T GIVE IN..I'LL BE RIDING THIS TRAIL EVERY WEEK, SO I CAN GE IN SHAPE FOR SOUTH MOUNTAIN ON THE WEEKENDS....I JUST WANT TO RIDE MY BIKE...

Recommended Route:
I LIVE BY HOME DEPOT ON FLORENCE AND PEART. SO I GO STRAIGHT SOUTH ON PEART TILL THE ROAD PASSES I-8 AND TURNS EAST FOR 1/8 OF A MILE TIL THE PAYMENT ENDS. SINGLE TRACKS ARE ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN..

Other recommended trails in the same area:
NONE I CAN THINK OF.

Summary:
The CG Mountain Trail System is beautiful singletrack built and maintained by locals. The north side loops are fast and fun but very little technical riding.

The south side trails are more technical with short climbs and decents as you wind toward the south point of the mountain. There are at least three trails leading south. Hug the mountain for a great technical ride.

Recommended Route:
I've been out at CG mountain a couple of times GPS mapping the routes. Visit MTBikeAZ.com for more trail info and maps.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Future trails that will be build on CG Mountain!

Summary:
I'm a new rider and this trail is close to home so it's easy to get out and ride. I like it alot, like the others have stated the faster you go the more difficult it is. I have only done the North side of the trail and it's a blast. Keep your eyes open for cactus on the trail, every time I have been on the trail there has been some large pieces. Like I said, I'm a begginer and even at my level (5 actual mountain trail rides)it's still a very doable trail, excelent to learn and train on. I would recommend riding this trail with a local the first couple of times as some of the trail crossovers can be a little confusing.

Recommended Route:
Others have given alot better directions than I can!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Don't know any but am looking for some!!

Summary:
This is a great trail! As described before, the faster you go, the tougher it gets. Definitely have some chances to get some "Big Air." Great trail, definetly recommend.

Recommended Route:
I-10, get off on Jimmy Kerr Blvd. Head West to peart, go south, park at the end of Peart. Ride east and go up.
