Weekend Warrior Summary: This is a great trail for begginers and intermediate riders. It is fun for everyone and the trail is well kept up. However, if you are looking for a workout or a challenge, this is not the trail for you. It is just to easy, but enjoyable. If you are wanting to put on some quick miles on your bike, this is a great place to do it. Recommended Route: Posted above. Other recommended trails in the same area: National, Mommon Loop

Cross Country Rider Summary: Nice, flowing, relatively smooth trail. Park near the covered seating area, grab your bike, hang a left, and start rolling. There is nothing technical here and no reason to get off the bike, so if you want to get in some fast miles, this is a great place to do it. The cactus are no where near the trail so you need not worry about those jumping cactus!
This is a nice place to bring a beginner, or like I said, put it in the big ring and get some miles in. Take a breather near the big water tank to cut the trail in half.
Keep in mind that you will come across a bunch of hikers/runners/walkers and other cyclists. Apparently this is a mighty popular trail!

Cross Country Rider Summary: Nice rolling desert singletrack. Not very technical, and no killer climbs (though there are some short, steep efforts). You can keep up a pretty good pace on this ride, and the desert surroundings are nice (especially for an east-coaster like me). Saw some coyote and road runners, but since the trail basically winds past suburbia, you never feel like you're truly in the wilderness. Overall a fun way to spend a few hours riding, and a good trail for newbies. Other recommended trails in the same area: sedona

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is an awesome Cross Country trail. It is fast and offers a little of everything. If you are getting ready from a Cross Country race or just wanting a good workout, this is the course. Try taking the "secret trail" at post #36 to add a little more technical loop. Other recommended trails in the same area: McDowell Mtn. Competitive, Sport and Tech Loops

, from Awhatukee, AZ Summary: A great way to start the day! At sunrise, you see just the dedicated kindred scabby souls, get serenaded by coyotes, and breathe in lungfuls of crisp Sonoran air. If you start at the west end, you get the benefit of getting the highest ascent out of your way (a great warm-up), and then just swoop, swale and holler your way to 48th. The only drawback is that at this time of day, the sun's a'shinin' in your eyes. Yeah, well, god divides...get out and ride. For you harder-core connect-the-dotters, ride Desert Classic W to E, then zip on over to the Mormon Loop, climb up the spine of South Mountain, and come down white-knuckled and grinning along the National Trail. Recommended Route: west to east Other recommended trails in the same area: Try the "Long Loop" Trail in McDowell Mtns Open Space Park--what a thrill ride!!! Five stars right here in the Valley!!
