Summary:
DeLaVeaga has some great trails. I would recomend hitting top of the world. Go to the top of the frisby golf course and the trail goes down the back side of the mountain from there. When you get to the bottom of it there is a four way type intersection. Go straight through it to a fire road directly across from the trail end. Follow that fire road until you get to the sand pit. That place is sick .

Summary:
Sweet trails. All singletrack, a steep hill on one side going up, another going down on your other side. Tight, rooty, techinical. Much fun. The fire road that leads to the bottom passes a quarry type thing with some 7+ foot drops too, and there are some big jumps hidden around there too. No more detail, I want them to stay secret.

Recommended Route:
Head up through Branciforte drive or go up some other fire road, I forgot the street names.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Wilder and the many many sweet trails hidden off of UCSC. Oh, and Nisene and the Aptos post office jumps.

Summary:
pretty fun trail. i went alone w/out really knowing where to go but found top of the world easily enough, then dropped in and had a blast. i'm pretty much a newbie and just about anything single track, through the forrest, is thrilling for me.

i'd rate it a 5 if i could've found the loop all the way back to top of the world. i got most of the way back and then cut across the golf course. man, it's easy to leave deep tire tracks on a golf course w/ mud tires, right after a rain.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
ucsc, demo forrest
