Summary:
This trail's got alot of rocks at points in the ride. If you come onto the gravel road leading into the trail from the YMCA daycamp in hamden, there is a pretty fast downhill and bridge drop. There are alot of optional routes. One particular route brings you off a boulder, down a serious hill and straight off a good sized jump. There is a good jump run that I have found and the lower trail parallels a river which can make for some fun riding if yiu wnat to get wet.

Recommended Route:
I live in Hamden so I go take Gaylord Mtn.Rd. to Downes Rd. (there's a YMCA camp sign at the turn) At the end of Downes there is a large wooden sign and metal gate. Go through the gate or up the path near the sign to the parking lot of the camp. Continue on this road and it becomes gravel. There will be another metal gate with a path around it, take this path to the other side of the gate and follow the gravel road to the first right hand turn. Turn right here and left at the near side of the bridge. This is the lower trail. From this trail you can access oil lines, power lines
a stunt run and other small trails. If you continue over the bridge and go up the gravel hill on the other side, you will eventually hit Brooksvale Park, for more riding

Brooksvale Park

Summary:
great xc trails with lots of uphills and rocks. Some big boulders, great views if you can find your way to the cliff. Park at the top to do less pedaling. No built stunts and not really a free ride spot, great for xc epics. I saw a map on nemtb.com

Recommended Route:
Any trails off the crushed stone road on your left could potentially get you to the cliffs. Long powerline hilly trails, some singletrack and mazes of unmarked trails. I am still exploring after many years of riding.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Woodbury for freeride, hop brook for less time available
