Weekend Warrior Summary: the other reviewers need to get a clue. if ruts bother you that much stay on the pavement. penny road has enough trails that you can actually ride hours without repeating the same trail over and over.there are sections that are full of horse tracks but also many that are not.the challenge is medium at best but with the few places in chicago to ride it is definately worth a visit Recommended Route: north from parking lot for miles Other recommended trails in the same area: palos out & back is fast smooth turny single track

Ridden Trail: Please Select

, from Palatine, IL Summary: I've seen this trail reviewed in a couple of places, so I thought I'd check it out. The reviews are 100% accurate. The only thing you should ride here is a horse! There were some decent sections of trail, but overall it was very unsatisfactory. If you do go, bring tick repellant as they are abundant given the combination of horses and overgrown grass! Recommended Route: Another trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: Deer Grove, Veterans Acres, Busse Woods.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from Palatine, IL Summary: I rode this trail after I read a review in Windy City Sports. Don't bother going here. The trails are boring, and mostly overgrown with grass. There is no challenging terrain, and the scenery is rather bland. A rider's time would be better spent at Deer Grove in Palatine, only a few miles away. Recommended Route: None. Other recommended trails in the same area: Deer Grove

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from Round Lake, IL Summary: Great trail if you have the most plush full suspension money can buy to help with all the ruts caused by the horses and you don't mind a road apple facial. Place was horrible...Not even decent scenery. Recommended Route: I suggest you head North, South, East or West to any other trail you can find. Other recommended trails in the same area: North to Kettle Moraine, Palos Hills or even Veterans Acres in Crystal Lake is better.
