Cross Country Rider Summary: Used to be an old race way but, they are doing work to cover or tear up the old raceway. I started by the silo and went right. Slight hills , a couple long turns angled uphill. Lots of steep small to medium drops . some steep hills. Its a cross between xc and some hard dirt tails. Don't go through anyones yard, they will tell you to turn around. Recommended Route: I took 72 west from schaumburg, right on 31, and depending on which entrance you want to take you could go straight or turn left on main street/ Huntley road. It"s on the right on Huntley. The left on 31. Other recommended trails in the same area: Theres a bike trail about half a mile south. If you start from the entrance with the silo go south on 31 half a mile or so(stay on the left side and WATCH FOR TRAFFIC) Then turn left on north Lincoln av basically a fork in the road. Go about 600 feet and on the left there should be a dam and a bike trail. The trail follows the river. One you get to the bridge with the railroad tracks you could go across and theres another trail. The farthest I've taken the trail is Algonquin but I know it goes a lot further. The trail is paved though. There is another dirt trail but it is 2 miles away. It has a name but I cant remember. It is behind the East Dundee Library. It's an very old gravel pit. open to public a couple log overs some hills. A large fun hill. Don't exactly know how long the trails are but, there are plenty other things since it is a pretty hilly area back there.
