Ridden Trail: Once a week

Weekend Warrior Summary: Not a bad trail for getting some exercise. It is all paved albeit they need to work on the pavement as parts of the trail are showing some nice sized cracks.
There are about 7 wooden bridges on the trail so if the trail is wet or has recently been wet, you must watch your speed otherwise you stand a good chance of wiping out on them as alot of them are situated on turn apex's.
You will on 95% of the time encounter walkers on this trail and the biggest issue you will find is they tend to all walk in an unorganized herd taking up the entire width of the trail. But they will move to the side as long as you remember your trail etiquette.
Most of the trail is within the wooded area of the park so that it offers a nice shade on the hot days so you only have to ride in the sun for a little bit of the trail. Recommended Route: From Excelsior Springs, MO 92 West for 1 mile, County Road RA North 1 mile to main entrance of park. Follow the signs to the trailhead.
From I-35, in Kearney, Missouri. Take MO 92 East for 6 miles. County Road RA North 1 mile to main entrance of park. Follow the signs to the trailhead.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I have run around the paved trails over 1,000 times and it is great for that and that only. The trail is clogged with kids on bikes and walkers. Any MTB rider would really be bored. I tried riding the hores trails once a couple of years back and was told by a parks department employee to stay on the pavement.

, from Liberty Summary: Watkins Mill offers some good trails for beginners. You can ride around the 3.75 mi paved trail and look for singletrack or horse trails jutting off the path. Recommended Route: Horse trails leading off paved path East and NE of the main lake. Other recommended trails in the same area: Stocksdale Park (SE of Liberty) offers good, hilly field riding and some short, woodsy technical riding.
