Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from Boulder, Co Summary: I was pleasantly surprised by this trail. It was real singletrack (1 foot wide most of the way), had great views, no people on it, and was pretty smooth (compared to CO riding). There are some steep challenging sections on the NE side of the loop and a little exposure higher up. The trail on the west side was more gradual (in most parts) and wound through a lush valley (check for ticks). On the downside, a short section was messed up by horses, there was a section of dirt road, and the signs were a bit confusing (lots of white trail posts but no info written on them). Still, it's definitely worth riding if you're in the area. Recommended Route: Ride counterclockwise if you like the challenge of a steep, tight uphill. Ride clockwise if you like that on the downhill.

, from Brady, NE Summary: Not your typical Nebraska ride. Rocks, rocks, rocks. Great for any skill level. Only saw two other riders the whole day. Pretty amazing for a Nebraska trail. Recommended Route: We started at the campground trailhead.

, from Lincoln, NE Summary: I honestly forgot that I was in Nebraska here. It was a very difficult ride at points, but very worth it. You get to the top of the ridge and you can see the black hills while the wind makes you feel like you are in a small mountain range. There were lots of rocks, steep hills and cactus plants. Chadron may have the best riding in the pine ridge area and should be a good ride for anyone, no matter where you are from. The area is pretty much unknown to mountain bikers, but is very exceptional. You should enjoy a quiet ride without any crowds. There are some points with dangerous dropoffs so be safe. Some of the most interesting riding in Nebraska. Enjoy! Recommended Route: Trail access is limited, but I would suggest that you start at the top of the trailhead and go north. You will have to ride up the road at the end, but the trailhead that begins at the campground is so steep and narrow in places that it is impossible to get up. Just check out the trails prior to your ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: Ft. Robinson State Park in Crawford. Pine Ridge National Recreation Area, 10 miles away.
