Weekend Warrior Summary: A unique and fulfilling ride, though not in any vanilla kind of way... Contrary to other reviews, there is no trashing of desert, only love for it. If you don't care for the desert, and for freaks in the desert, don't take this ride.

Cross Country Rider Summary: More fun doing 105 mph on my Yamaha 426 than little push bikes...there are some good rides in the hills outside of Gerlach on twin tracks though...

, from Reno NV Summary: Gordon is right. Stay away from burning man. I always believed that week would be a good time for the Air Force to make a few practice bombing runs across the desert. Clean up the world's gene pool. Other recommended trails in the same area: Forget the playa. Ride Highrock Canyon instead.

, from Susanville Summary: Flat, dusty. Stay away during burning man. burning man is just a bunch of drugged out losers trashing a beautiful desert. If you do come during burning man, bring a weapon to defend yourself. Recommended Route: loop either way Other recommended trails in the same area: The entire Granite Range. Lots of 4WD roads and trails to ride up to 9,000 feet elevation.

, from BRC Summary: The Black Rock City loop trail is an oftentimes challenging, multitrack and sand, desert ride with spectacular views of the surrounding mountsides. I particularly enjoy the varied and unpredictable technical challenges, some of which reportedly include: (1) trying to actually ride the bike while under the influence of massive doses of psychoactive substances; (2) frequent and unpredictable rebar and rope hazards; (3) technical riding in the form of swerving in and out of the paths of erratic movements of art cars being operated by people also under the influence of massive doses of psychoactives; (4) potential heat stroke and heat exhaustion. As other mountain bikers have reported in their previous reviews, the Black Rock City multi-track loop can be a challenging and highly technical ride. Exercise caution and have fun! Recommended Route: BRC perimeter ride, through center camp, stopping for an iced soy latte, other optional stops for massages, glitter, beer, cigarettes . . .
