Cross Country Rider Summary: Fair trail. Sparse (no trees), w/o great views (powerlines!). But so close, so it is worthwhile.

Downhiller Summary: This is a great trail to stay in shape on. It gives a good resistance on the way up to keep your heart rate going. There are a few spots that are starting to deteriorate and make for a scrary couple of turns but keep the speed and you're set. The trip down is a blast if you have the travel to do it. I do not recomend a hard tail coming down it but going up the hard tail helps.
This is the perfect ride to get an idea of the types of trials that are around here. Recommended Route: Its one of the easiest trails to get to in Reno, to find it go to the top of north McCarren next to Keystone and you will see the entrance to the trail heads. I like the lower trail head for the start.
once on the trail there is really only one way to go (up) but once you get to the top by the power lines you can go just about anywhere from there depending on the endurance level you're at. I like to ride hard up and take the single track back down. watch out for other riders and hikers this is a very commonly used trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: that trail will take you to most of them once you get to the top but if you want somthing harder try go from the top of El Rancho and winding over to Keystone canyon.

Downhiller Summary: The trail has changed a lot since I first wrote this review. Recommended Route: Now when you ride down into the property, you hit the middle section of the trails cut last year.
Now you should roll all the way down the powerline, and turn left at the blown out car carcas. Or if you're really metal you can hunt and find your way onto the UNR Downhill.
Watch out though, Mr. Rattler and I had an incident. We both lost.
