, from Steamboat Springs, CO Summary: Rode here for two days - favorite trail was Black Velvet - good technical trail, but very short. Otherwise, a lot of fast singletrack with cacti everywhere! No flats but don't fall off your bike. Looked at the Pukester in Blue Diamond and rode part of the way up it but left it for another day at the end of the season when I am feeling a bit friskier - very steep and long.
Recommended Route: Black Velvet (at the head of the B. Velvet Canyon) or the Pukester in Blue Diamond.

, from North Augusta, SC Summary: Very different from East Coast, so I like the trails. Comparitively smooth singletrack. Even saw wild horses! Picked up a map and rental from ETCS in Vegas (great shop). Did not feel that there was a lot of technical challenges on these trails but then that does not appeal to me much anyway. I like fast singletrack which there WAS plenty of! Recommended Route: Any

, from Henderson, NV Summary: Between turista newbies taking a day off from the casinos and dickwad out-of-control Gen-X gomers, these "trails" are anything but fun. You'll have a much better time heading over to Boulder City instead. Red Rock area is the Calcutta of riding areas, there's more "people" (I use that term loosely, maybe "R. Crumb characters" would be more descriptive?) crowding these trails than you can possibly imagine. Frickin' BLM honchos are narc'ing the trails constantly, too. Not exactly the kind of ride you were looking for, eh? The place sucks tremendous weenie. Go to BC! Recommended Route: not recommended Other recommended trails in the same area: Boulder City area trails
