Cross Country Rider Summary: Been to Fort Rock a few times now and have to pass along a review. I have ridden both sides, and am pretty sure I have hit most of the trails, and have to say that this place rocks. Literally, especially the Oakland side. That is a good thing though as it makes for never-ending technical opportunities. The main trails have a variety of lines that can be tried varying from rock-dodging and meandering easy to rock hoppin' tree stumpin' tire slippin' good times. There can be some pretty hard spots if you are up for a challenge and the H/S side is full of nice flowy singletrack, but stay on your toes as it can get pretty hairy pretty fast, especially in the fall with those nice bright leaves covering all kinds of traction reducing hazards. Recommended Route: Any and all, Oakland is a bit more technical, H/S is more dense and trafficked it seems.

Cross Country Rider Summary: There is an amazing amount of technical singletrack when you combine both South and North areas. This is an absolute must ride if you're in the area. I'm at a loss for words after a 2 hour non-stop intense romp over boulder/bridge heaven. Recommended Route: Route 101 West from I95. Take exit 10 and make left off ramp. 1/2 mile make right on dirt road just before narrow bridge for train tracks.
Ride up main fire road for 1/4 mile from parking area and make first right onto the first singletrack you see. Try to get through tunnel under 101 and follow staight to (pipeline) clearcut area. I tried the snowmobile area for the first time today and liked it.
Have your A game ready!

Weekend Warrior Summary: This is the best biking in Southern NH. It offers it all. It is well maintained, but still can be quite raw. Recommended Route: North entrance for more excitement (and injuries).
South entrance for a more relaxed, but still somewhat technical ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: Aggie in York, ME
Blue Job in Rochester, NH

Cross Country Rider Summary: Fort Rock is a small area laced with great singletrack punctuated by hillocks topped with root ladders ending in technical rock climbs. We will always include this area on our outings to Northern New England. Rode for three hours without any duplication. Can you have more fun on a mountain bike? Recommended Route: Try to do it all. Other recommended trails in the same area: Bear Brook, Pawtuckaway State Park

Weekend Warrior Summary: When we went, it was wet as hell, nicely maintained area some good riding, trails can be a bit hard to follow though as they can tend to split off or tail off at times. Ended up carrying the bike about 1/3 of the ride. Recommended Route: Definitely need to ride more than once to learn the good runs
