, from Portsmouth / North Conway Summary: You can also cross the lawn to the right of Cranmore's main lodge and aim for the top of the drainage culvert to the right. From there a faint jeep/service road climbs up and right on one of the green ski trails (singletrack) winding to the summit. Some hike-a-bike but a good alternative climb (less bugs too).
Recommended Route: Great ride ! Alternative to the initial climb on this description. Other recommended trails in the same area: From the top of Cranmore, head down Rattlesnake to the base, take right on Kearsarge Rd to Buttonrock Inn, then take the trail in back of the Inn (Mt Surprise Trail) all the way to Tuckeman's Tavern. Beer.
