Beans Bike Park

Recognizing the need to provide access to all levels and abilities, this facility offers the features that make it enjoyable for all levels. Mastering single track takes skills not normally used in everyday riding. Thats why the mountain bikers who designed Beans have constructed a gentle, obstacle free, clearly marked, wide beginner loop that leads to the technical offshoots that provide stunts, teeter-totters, and behind the seat drops that experts and novices have come to expect and enjoy. When you cant muster up the energy for the Pine-Hill climb, use the unique trail marking system to take the bypass, catch your breath, regroup and plan your attack on the next lap.
Open riding is available 365 days a year, with a race series making its debut in the spring of 2001. By the way... this place has an intense, district 12, motocross course available, check out beansroadraceway.com and/or pitracer.com for more information on MX. This makes Beans Bike Park a great place for a weekend getaway of two-wheel off-roading, offering parking, bathroom facilities, P.A. system, Motocross Track and mountain bike trails.
Get ready to challenge yourself; soon you will be able to bring your Motocross and Mountain bike to Beans Road for
a great day of fun!
Take I-77 to Exit 81, Rt. 39. Go east on 39 through New Philadelphia approximately 7.5 miles to Roxford Church Rd. Turn right, follow Roxford Church Rd approximately 1.3 miles to Beans Rd, and go left. Follow Beans Rd. about 1/2 mile and stay right at the Y. Trail head and track is located on the left. Look for the signs once you get to Roxford Church.
Summary: i don't know if this trail is ridable at other times during the year, but right now it isn't going to happen. just tried to ride the mountain bike course. the place looks like it hasn't been touched in a while. i made it up a big hill, wound up in a field and figured i missed my turn. so i turned around and went the way your supposed to and made it about a hundred feet before the trail became so choked with sticker bushes i gave up. unless you have a machete in your camelback i'd try somewhere else.

Summary: If you like up hill switchbacks this is the place for you. Built on two nice size hills that will give you a workout. Its a good loop that took about an hour and a half (including replacing a tube) on the green loop. Two no-brakes downhills were pretty fast. Beans is pretty well maintained and easy to get to.. If you have a full suspension take a look at the sick trails course! I have some pics on www.geocities.com/nelsonpsu/BikeReviews.htm
Recommended Route: the turn off of 250 is by a church and a crappy Inn. Look for the BEANS sign and continue down the road. You can't miss it.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Vultures Knob, Mohican

Summary: A real gem in hilly ,East Central Ohio!
Shall return again when it dries. The day I went it had been awhile since the last rain so it was 95% dry. Well executed loop
and very disorienting. Nice variety of woodlands and fields. The sign posted three trails, but I became confused du to bad signage. Impossible to get lost however........just stayed on the trail that left the p.lot. (clockwise)
The skinny bridges off to the sides of the trail are insane! I dont believe this 40 year old will partake.
Recommended Route: clockwise direction.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Vultures, West Branch, try some of the drt roads in Amish Country. a real hoot if the singletracks are wet. steep and curvy! watch the road apples!
