The first 3/4 miles is pretty flat. After that it is a tough climb for almost 2.5 miles. You gain about 1000ft in 2 miles. When you get to the top you can follow a few different trails. If you go up in the summer (Late May to August) ask the fire ranger in the tower how to get to Grand Vista.
After you get to the top it is pretty easy though. It takes me about 1hour 15 minutes to 2 hours to get up depending on who I'm riding with. Then about 10 minutes to get down. The picture is of Bear Mountain from the top of Medicine Mountain.
Turn right off of highway 16 onto a dirt road 1.5 miles after Crazy Horse Monument. Follow that road until you get to Bobcat Road. Follow Bobcat Road about 3/4 miles and the trailhead is on the left.
