We slog from about 3300S 500E up to the entrance to Big Cottonwood Canyon, up the canyon, jump on gaurdsman pass road, up puke hill, finally getting to the Wasatch Crest Trail. Come down the crest trail, halfway down Mill D north to the Dog Lake turnoff, up to Dog Lake, Down the Big Water trail into Millcreek Canyon. Jump on the pipeline trail, then drop back down off of the pipeline at rattlesnake. Take the road back to my house.

Summary:
Did this to celebrate my 40th Birthday. Pushing fat tires uphill with a down canyon wind is not fun but I would do this again. Next Year?

Recommended Route:
Next Time - Connect the dots and go from MILL D so on back trails to Solitude, climb up and take the Sol Bright to brighton then to Gaurdsman. I have also heard of a trail from Solitude to the GW trail head, need to find it!

as Billy described but start over in the avenues... this addsa another 20 miles or so round trip, and adds 10 miles more to your climb....

Other recommended trails in the same area:
do it backwards, up pipleline, dog lake, crest and then don't drop down to Guardsman (After descending puke hill) turn left, and drop into Park city, do the 8000 ft trail, throught hte canyons, and thenafter apssing through the canyons make the climb back yup to the join with the Crest Trail, descend either into Mill Creek and pipeline, or go the more techniucal less vert route into Big Cottonwood......

Summary:
It's a Looooooong climb up Big Cottonwood, which really can suck whenever a down canyon wind is blowing. Midday is best to avoid the wind, however you than have the sun to deal with.

Recommended Route:
Billy's got it down, you get max vert. downhill by coming down Mill D and than back up to Dog Lake. If you want the lazy way out you can stay on the crest rather than dropping into Deso/Mill D. This will get you into Millcreek w/out any additional climb.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Too many to list
