Klickitat Logging Road
1 reviews
 5 of 5

Abandoned (paved) road that used to bring logging trucks from Mt. Adams to the mill in Klickitat. Easy ride with slight uphill slope northbound. NO HILLS! Follows within feet of the Klickitat River (designated wild and scenic) through a canyon with no other roads. NOTE: as of 5/99 river is washing away the road at several spots approx 12 mi. N of trailhead. Passable by trail on the west side of the road.

Summary:
Easy but beautiful ride for 17 miles from trailhead. Then 3 mile steady climb to top. 4 miles further, if you hop back over to the highway (you are parallel to it again), fabulous overlook to the north looking down to the Klickitat River and a number of waterfalls on a tributary. 5 miles further takes you to Glenwood (not much but a crossroads) for R&R before heading back down.
