Asphault, not much uphill or downhill, fairly flat. This is a good one hour ride if you want an easy ride in not much time

Go into the redlands and go up south rim drive and it smacks you right into the trailhead. If that's too confusing, go ask a bike shop.

Ridden Trail:
Ridden Once

Reviewed by: Damon , from Maui

Summary:
This was a great start for my girl who has never really ridden a mountion bike. Lots of shade. It is paved so it takes a mental edge off so we could go through the gears and braking. The return is a nice little climb that enabled her to prove to herself she could manage. There are cute little off shoots that kept me entertained and allowed me to stay close. Mountion lions have been sighted recently in the area so be ready to throw your bike at one. Lots of bunnys squirls and we even saw a deer that let us stop and gaze not fifty yards away.

Recommended Route:
Find redlands parkway off I-70, turn on South Rim and the trailhead is by a pond on the left. Look for the connected lakes trails. Be kind to walkers.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The Tabuguache trail area is a full kick and just around the corner below the Monument.
