Weekend Warrior Summary: This is a must do trail if you are in the area. Fun fast one foot drops up and down. On our trip we did this loop 2 days it was so good. Recommended Route: If live though the first 200 foot down hill turn left it gets easier from there Other recommended trails in the same area: moore Fun I was laughing with fear at some points and loved it

Cross Country Rider Summary: Great advanced intermediate level trail. The drop in is pretty hairy in a couple of spots - I rode down at the start, but didn't want to trash my chainring or body on the lower half! Don't let the drop-in discourage you if you are a competent technical rider, you can ride almost all of the rest of the trail. There are a couple of spots that may put you into a "discretion is the better part of valor" mode, but this is a wonderful loop. We did it in the recommended clockwise direction, but I would think that both ways would be fun. Some nice ledge drops and climbs, and spectacular views. There are a couple of tougher sections but they are rideable for a better rock-rider and most of the trail can be ridden by any solid intermediate rider. I will be making another trip to Fruita/Grand Junction, these trails are easily as fun as Moab. Recommended Route: Start in from Mary's Loop going clockwise, up and over the small ridge, and after about 1-1/2 miles of easy dirt road climbing go into the gate on the left and down the drop. Only a couple hundred feet of foot-work if you won't ride any of it. If you ride all of it, you may be looking to ride Moore Fun instead of this! Even if you do ride it this is a fun trail. After the loop is completed, hike up the drop in and continue on Mary's Loop. Mary's gets fun shortly after the Horsethief Loop and is plenty of fun on it's own. At the top of Mary's, you can descend down the fireroad to the cars, or if you are looking for more, start the climb up to Moore Fun, which is a bit tougher than all of what you did already. Moore technical, Moore elevation, Moore rocks, but an outstanding trail also. We did this as Mary's/Horsetheif/Moore Fun and it was our best day out for a week in the area, in my opinion. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tabaguache area in GJ (Holy Cross is a hoot), Moore Fun if you like some more challenging rides.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Ride the entry, that's why you're on your bike. The falls going in aren't bad and the rewards when you make it are awesome. Try to ride it out too, it's been done. The trail is fun and not exhausting. The views add points. Recommended Route: Standard. Drop in and go left. Other recommended trails in the same area: All of Loma and Fruita

Weekend Warrior Summary: Oh Sweeeet Singletrack! Mostly fast. Some technical sections to keep it interesting. Great views of the Colorado as if the single track wasn't enough already. You have just got to love this trail. I did even at the end of 3 days of heavy riding. Hike-a-bike a small section at the beginning. Recommended Route: This trail is off Mary's loop. Do Mary's loop in the counter clock wise direction (i.e. keep going straight past the parking lot on the dirt road, go past the first dirt road on your left). Then bomb down the last section of Mary's loop at absolute warp speed. FUN!!!!!!!!

Cross Country Rider Summary: Horse Theif's is a great trail. The Dorp into it is technical, but the whole thing is doable. This trail offers some great technical parts and some great easy streches. Everything from step-ups to steep rock drop-offs. It is the best trail in the Fruita area. Other recommended trails in the same area: Take Rustlers Loop for an easy warm-up before Horse Theif's. Also Mary's Loop and Steve's Loop are great.
