Town Run Trail Park (96th Street Levee)
16 reviews
 3.75 of 5

This is Indy's first official mountain bike park. This is a fast rolling singltrack with lots of twist and turns. The trail is one way, please ride in a clockwise direction (The only exception is a night, you may go either direction). There are several orange arrows to help guide you through the trail. Check the local bike shops for trail maintenance days. Indy Spoke Breakers Bike Club helps maintain the trails, and needs everyones help to keep this park nice. If this works mor parks are sure to follow. Wear a helment and have fun.

Summary:
See new review under "96th Street."

Especially note: NO NIGHT RIDING. The land owner is adamant about this, and threatens to revoke ALL access to his land! The underlying reason is poaching by 4x4s and m/c's, but from 1/4 mile it's hard to tell them from a bicycle with a HID headlight.

Also, stay off of TRTP when it's been raining. The trail's in a flood plain, and gets soft and is easily damaged. Check the HMBA's Message Board for current conditions.

Summary:
I can't say anything bad about this trail. It is the trail that introduced me to mountain biking. It's on the north side of Indianapolis, so don't expect anything to spectacular. It's winding single track through the woods. It's the only palce to ride anywhere near it, and it's also the most ridden trail in Indiana. Again, it's nothing spectacular with huge clims, decents, or drops. But, it is winding single track, and has introduced me, and who knows how many other people, to the wonderful sport of mountain biking. Because it is so winding, if you want to make it more difficult to stay up, just ride it faster. I did that and went to the hospitol in an ambulance. So, it's not competely taim. I absolutely love it.

Summary:
Sweet trail! You can really get a flow going, feels like you are on a roller coaster. 8 miles long loop that has a "one way" approach. It is THE place to ride in Indy, and you can meet a few riders since it is usually pretty busy with bikers. A nice place for beginners to advanced riders. The faster you go the harder it is. However beginners can break halfway through for a short 4 mile loop. The aerobic difficulty is based on how hard you push it. Overall 4 chillys

Summary:
Since it was my first time riding this trail, I went slow to get a feel for the trail. It was definately fun and since this was the first mountain bike trail I have ridden it was a bit technical at first. I rode it just after it rained so the trail was a bit muddy, but that made it more fun. Several good hills.

Recommended Route:
Follow the signs.
