Summary:
Nice trails. I was on a biz trip here a couple of years ago and one
of the local bike shops lined me up with a guy from Garden City
for a ride here. Great fun and a real suprise. If I get back out to
the Dodge area I will ride again. Trail was 7 miles out and back
when I rode it. Seems like the local folks ran a Wed evening ride
here. If you're in the area definetly ride it!

Summary:
I ride this trail a lot, there are often regular group rides on Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. It's a sweet fast trail with some fun attributes, The trail builders are always finding ingenious ways to add a few 10ths of a mile. My rating is based on it's great to have a local trail.

Recommended Route:
Definitely park in the bikers lot, about a half mile south of the main entrance. The way locals generally ride is to the left out of the parking lot and just follow the trail. There's a total of about 10 miles in one continuous loop. (including the playground)

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Lake Scott State Park, Frazier Park in Ulysses, Garden City has a river trail.

Summary:
I'm originally from Southwest Kansas, so I wasn't expecting much when I went to ride this trail, but it turned out to be a pretty good ride. Whoever built this trail did a great job with what they had to work with. It has a lot of well maintained singletrack and has a few somewhat technical short downhills. The "playground" was also good for a few cheap thrills.

Recommended Route:
The best parts are all south and southwest of the lake. Don't leave from the main parking lot, take the dirt road just west of the lake south for a mile. There is a parking lot and the best trail head is there on the east side of the road. Go south after first entering the trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
none that are close. . . That's this trail's greatest strength.

Summary:
I was invited to the "grand opening" of the trails by a local group of riders who created the trails. I was very suprised at the quality of the trails and the obstacles. Hats off to the local folks to build such a quality trail! There are a few 4' diameter tree trunks to ride over, some hairpin switchbacks, and even the "playground", an old gravel pit with lots of jumps and berms to ride. definitely not the most extreme trail I've ever ridden, but not too bad at all. Worth the trip if you are in the area. This trail has built in go-arounds for most of the technical obsticals, so you can bring the whole family. Most of the trail is also in the shade, so don't be afraid to go in the summer. The locals are very friendly and receptive, and made my ride a pleasure.

Recommended Route:
Leave fron the main parking lot, the trail is easy to find.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Palo Duro Canyon, South of Amarillo
