Summary:
Not a bad ride today. First time out...wasn't sure what the police scene might be, considering the posted no tresspassing signs. Conditions were dry and hot...sweated quite a bit, but it is August. Ran into no trouble with law enforcement...things seemed rather mellow. Several trails were quite steep and challenging. All different kinds of terrain. Although I was on two wheels, would say that four would be the most fun, considering some of the things you have to blast through. Worth the travel to get there!

Recommended Route:
173 exit to Pennington ave.

Summary:
I've ridden Bloody Pond for over 30 years. I've never had a problem with the police. In fact, the police where there a few months ago looking for a stolen bike, when I rode by, they just waved.

The terrain varies tremendously throughout the year. From very dry almost desert like conditions during the summer to super muddy in the winter. There are flat trails, hills, woodland trails, streams, swamps, sand, mud, clay. All with very few rocks. One time you ride, you'll curse the deep soft sand, the next time, it will be so wet and muddy, you'll be glad you've found a nice sandy patch to get some traction. I've seen a lot of ATV folks there and a fair number of dirt bike riders. I'm a dirt biker and everyone seems to have a great time and stay out of each other's way.

In my opinion Bloody Pond is the best riding place in the entire Baltimore area.

Recently, a bunch of morons have been dumping trash and burning stolen cars there. So, it's likely to be closed soon.
